The Aviator Jumpsuit

Yikes! It’s a jumpsuit in a woven! I admit it , I was scared to start this one. I’d not trust to many other designers other then Wardrobe By Me to make this from haha. This is the Aviator Jumpsuit. It features a whopping 6 pockets. One on each leg, 2 breast pockets and 2 inseam pockets. It’s a pocket frenzy! 


It has quite a few options, sleeved, sleeveless and long inseam or shorts. You can also chose between 2 neckline options, round or v-shaped. I went for long pants, sleeves and the round neckline. I also used all pockets, cause pockets! I had to shorten the legs by about 2 inch and the sleeves by about 2.5 inch. short legs, short arms, the struggle is real. I made a size 22 bust, 24 waist, 18 hips. The pattern runs from 0-24.


The fit is great. I think I could shorten the trunk a bit but I kind of like it as is. I’ll not lie to you this is not a quick sew, nor is it very easy, but the return you get is amazing! The instructions are very clear tho, so you’ll get a lot of help there. I used a viscose/linnen blend. The jumpsuit in this print has an 80’s vibe, which I rly love. I’ll wear this loads!

Yikes! Een jumpsuit in een niet stretchstof! Ik geef grif toe, ik was serieus bang om met deze te starten. Ik zou niet veel andere ontwerpers dan  Wardrobe By Me  vertrouwen om hieraan te beginnen haha. Dit is de Aviator Jumpsuit. Het heeft maar liefst 6 zakken! 1 op elk been, 2 borstzakken en 2 zakken in de zijnaad. Het is een zakken frenzy!


Het patroon heeft heel wat opties, met mouwen, zonder mouwen, lange broek, short, een ronde nek lijn of een v- nek lijn. Ik koos de lange broek, mouwen en ronde nek lijn en uiteraard…ALLE zakken, want zakken! Ik moest de broekspijpen inkorten met 5 cm en de mouwen met 6 cm. Korte armen en benen…the struggle is real. Ik maakte maat 22 buste, 24 taille, 18 benen. De maten lopen van 0 tot 24.


The pasvorm is geweldig. Ik denk dat ik het lijfje nog een beetje zou kunnen inkorten een volgende keer, maar ik vind het eigenlijk gewoon leuk hoe het is nu. Ik zal niet liegen, dit is geen rap klaar project en heel makkelijk is het ook niet, maar je krijgt er dan wel iets cools voor terug! De instructies zijn heel duidelijk, dus je krijgt daar wel veel hulp. Ik gebruikte een viscose/linnen mix. De print van de jumpsuit maakt het een beetje neigen naar de jaren 80, maar dat vind ik net leuk. Ik ga dit zo veel dragen!

Front Button Skirt

It’s been a long time again! I’m so sorry, I will try to blog a lot more from now on. The world on lock down didn’t inspire me to sew more then mouth masks, so I’m happy to be picking up my normal routine again slowly! So let’s start of with the new Front Button Skirt by Wardrobe By Me . It’s a woven skirt with many options and it buttons up in the front (who could have guessed that? haha) I used a very lightweight denim and I made size 24. (sizing runs from 0 to 24)


There’s a lot of options. 2 lengths, I chose the shortest. you can also add a flounce to the bottom, which is fun too. There’s a lot of pockets! You can chose inseam pockets (which I did) and patch pockets (which I did too!). The fit is great and construction is fairly easy. I’d say an advance beginner with some dedication can manage to make this. 🙂


I paired it with the Sille Blouse , my absolute favorite blouse by WBM. This will become a well used outfit this summer I’m sure. The skirt is on sale till 05/29/2020. I’m sure it will become a favorite of yours too. I’m going to make a long one with a flounce too!

Het is weeral super lang geleden! Het spijt me, ik ga echt proberen om meer te bloggen vanaf nu, maar de lock down inspireerde me niet bepaald om iets anders te naaien dan mondmaskers, dus ik ben heel blij dat ik stilaan weer in mijn normale ritme ben beland! Laten we beginnen met de nieuwe Front Button Skirt van Wardrobe By Me . Het is een patroon voor geweven stoffen met heel wat opties en knopen vooraan. Ik gebruikte een heel dunne jeansstof en ik maakte maat 54 (maten lopen van 30 tot 54) 


Er zijn heel wat opties. 2 lengtes, ik koos de kortste. Je can ook een ‘flounce’ (ik heb geen idee hoe ik dat in het Nederlands moet noemen) toevoegen onderaan, deze is ook leuk. Er zijn ook veel zakken! Je kan er in de zijnaad maken (gedaan) en 2 zakken vooraan op de rok (ook gedaan). De pasvorm is super en hij is redelijk makkelijk om te maken. Ik zou zeggen dat een gevorderde beginner met wat toewijding hierin moet lukken. 🙂 


Ik deed er de Sille Blouse bij aan, mijn favo blouse van WBM. Dit wordt een veel gedragen outfit deze zomer denk ik. De rok is in sale tot 29/05/2020. Ik ga nog zeker een lange maken met de flounce!

Breton T-Shirt and Classic T-Shirt

So I can’t photograph black fabric properly. You’ll have to do with crap pics of that shirt haha. Anyways these are The Breton T-Shirt (left pic) and The Classic T-Shirt (right pic.), both new patterns by Wardrobe By Me . Sizes on both run from 2xs to 3xl. I made a m for both. I used cotton jersey for both.

The Classic T-Shirt is a classically T Shaped shirt with a relaxed fit. Ideal for a staple and a very quick easy sew. This is beginner friendly for sure. It’s the ideal pattern to make and give as a gift imo. It has a crew neckline and short sleeves. You’ll make a stack of these over the years I’m sure. I will too!

The Breton T-Shirt has long set in sleeves and the boat neckline is super easy, you just fold over and hem. This one is also totally beginner friendly and also a very quick sew. The fit is a little more fitting then the Classic T-Shirt.

Blijkbaar kan ik zwarte stof niet fotograferen, dus je zult het helaas moeten doen met crappy foto’s van dat shirt haha. Iig dit is The Breton T-Shirt (rechtse foto) en The Classic T-Shirt (linkse foto), beide nieuwe patronen van Wardrobe By Me . De maten lopen bij beide van 2xs tot 3xl. Ik maakte een m voor beide. Katoen tricot was mijn keuze voor beide.

Het Classic T-Shirt is een klassiek T-vormig shirt met een losse pasvorm. Ideaal om een hele stapel van te maken. Het is een makkelijk patroon en snel klaar. Absoluut beginner vriendelijk. Het is ook het ideale patroon om te maken en kado te geven imo. Het heeft een crew neklijn en korte mouwen. Je maakt vast een hele hoop van deze over de jaren en ik ook!

Het Breton T-Shirt heeft lange mouwen die ingezet zijn op het lijfje. De boat neklijn is super makkelijk, je vouwt gewoon om een zoomt. Deze is dus ook zeker beginner vriendelijk en ook heel snel klaar. De pasvorm is iets aansluitender dan het Classic T-Shirt.

Mijn man vindt ze beide leuk, dus ik zal er vast nog maken. Ze zijn nu in sale tot 14/02/20 en als je ze beide koopt en code: ilovesewing in geeft, dan krijg je nog $2 extra korting, niet verkeerd he 🙂 .

The Sille Blouse

I took a bit of a sewing break, one might say I lost my sewjo there for a while :o. I found it back and I dove in with the new Sille Blouse by Wardrobe By me.  I’m always a bit nervous sewing a woven for myself, it’s a bit scary if it’ll fit all the curves, but with WBM I know it’s a pretty safe bet. I am getting over my buttonhole phobia, so there’s that.

The Sille blouse features 2 views, 1 long sleeved one with a rounded collar and a short sleeved version with a squared collar. I made the latter. I love how it has dropped shoulders, I was looking for this exact pattern basically last summer. Happy I can wear it coming summer! 🙂 I made a size 22 bust, 24 waist. Fit is pretty much spot on. Sizing runs from 0 to 24.

I got the fabric out of a sale bin, so I don’t know what it is exactly. I’m guessing rayon?? You definitely want to use a nice flowy fabric. I also really want to make one in a see through chiffon to wear a tank under. That’ll be fun too imo. It’s a rather quick sew for a woven button up and not insanely difficult. I’d say adventurous beginner level :).

Ik nam een beetje een naai pauze, ik was even mijn sewjo kwijt :o. Ik vond hem echter recent terug en ik dook weer achter de machine voor de nieuwe Sille Blouse van Wardrobe By me.  Ik heb altijd een beetje een nerveusje als ik aan een project zonder stretch begin voor mezelf, altijd een beetje eng of alle curves wel gaan passen, maar met WBM is het nooit echt een heel wilde gok, de patronen zijn altijd weer top. Ook geraak ik stilaan over mijn knoopsgaten fobie, dus dat is ook al iets.

De Sille blouse heeft 2 versies, 1 met lange mouwen en afgeronde kraag en 1 met korte mouwen en een vierkante kraag. Ik maakte de laatste. Ik vind het super leuk dat het een dolman is, vorige zomer zocht ik me een breuk naar , tja eigenlijk exact dit patroon, dus ik ben helemaal blij dat ik het heb voor de volgende zomer. Ik maakte maat 22 buste, 24 taille en heupen. De pasvorm is perfect. Maten lopen van 0 tot 24.

De stof komt van de koopjeshoek in de Stoffenverkoop in Kapellen, dus ik weet niet zo goed wat het exact is. Viscose misschien?? Je wil iig een heel soepel vallend stofje voor dit patroon. Ik plan nog een versie met een doorzichtige chiffon, dan kan ik dat dragen met een tank top onder, lijkt me helemaal leuk.Het is een vrij snel project voor een blouse en niet super moeilijk. Ik zou zeggen voor een gevorderde beginner.

Overshirt

It’s been a while! I have not disappeared, I got 2 Maine coon kittens who keep me busy, they are helping me sew, so as you can imagine I’m way slower then I was before haha.  I tested the Overshirt by Wardrobe By Me.  I was kind of on the fence if I’d like it and if Sam would, but turns out we both love it. It’s a classic over shirt, so a rather lose fit.

I made a M . Sizing runs from 2XS to 3XL. I used wool. It would be nice in flanel too, but I couldn’t find flanel and this print drew my eye! You can chose patch pockets or welt pockets. I chose the patch pocket. The fit is great!

It’s a shirt, so it takes some experience, but the instructions are clear and helpful. I managed to iron in a wrinkle in the back and I didn’t notice it while taking pics, good job on that for myself. lol So ignore that, or don’t and have a lol 😀 .

Het is al ff geleden! Ik ben niet verdwenen, ik heb 2 Maine coon kittens en die houden me behoorlijk bezig. Ze hebben zichzelf ook gepromoveerd tot naai hulp, je begrijpt dat ik nu dus heel wat trager ben als voor ze er waren haha. Ik testte het Overshirt van Wardrobe By Me.  Ik wist niet goed of Sam en ik het leuk zouden vinden, maar ik was fout. We vinden het beide supertof . Het is een klassiek overhemd, dus eerder een lossere pasvorm.

Ik maakte een M. Maten lopen van 2XS tot 3XL. Ik gebruikte wol. Het zou ook tof zijn in flanel volgens mij, maar dat kon ik niet vinden en deze print trok mijn aandacht. Je kan kiezen tussen zakken die erop genaaid zijn of paspelzakken. Ik koos de erop genaaide zakken. De pasvorm is perfect.

Het is een hemd, dus het vergt wel wat ervaring, maar de instructies zijn duidelijk en helpen heel wat. Ik ben erin geslaagd om een plooi erin te strijken vanachter en ik heb dat niet gezien tijdens het nemen van de foto’s. Dus negeer die, of niet en ga er is aan ten koste van mij , ook goed :D.

Easy Pants

These are so exciting! I didn’t know things like this existed! The Easy Pants  by Wardrobe By Me are so so awesome! It’s a woven pants pattern, yet it’s as comfy as joggers. It’s the bestest thing ever! I made mine in linnen and I love how they turned out. I think there’s some other content in there cause they don’t wrinkle as bad as regular linnen.

Sizing runs from 0 to 24. I made a 24 waist and graded down to 18 legs, I had never done this and it’s the best decision I ever made pants wise, I don’t think I have ever had pants that fit so well in the legs as these! There’s an elastic in the waist and a drawsting. There’s  front pockets and optional welt back pockets, which I skipped.

These are so so comfy! Sewing them up wasn’t very difficult, if you can sew up joggers, you can sew up these. I paired them here with my Daisy Top  , also by wbm.  I love these so much that I already have another pair cut out in a denim and another in corduroy planned!

Van deze wordt ik zo zo blij! Ik wist niet eens dat dingen als dit bestonden!  De Easy Pants  van Wardrobe By Me zijn zo geweldig! Het is een patroon voor gewoven stoffen (linnen, jeans, etc.) , maar het is zo comfy als een joggingbroek. Het beste ooit! Ik maakte de mijne uit linnen, ik vermoed dat er nog wel iets bij zit, want het kreukt niet erg veel, zoals je met gewone linnen wel vaak hebt.

Maten lopen van 24 tot 54. Ik maakte een 54 taille en ging dan naar 48 benen. De beste beslissing die ik al ooit heb gemaakt met een broek te maken. Ik denk niet dat ik ooit al een broek had die zo goed past op mijn benen! In de taille zit een elastiek en een trekkoord. Er zijn zakken vooraan en optionele achterzakken (deze liet ik weg).

Deze zijn zo zo comfy! Ze waren ook niet zo moeilijk om te maken, als je al is een jogging hebt gemaakt, dan lukt deze zeker ook. Ik heb er mijn Daisy Top  op aan, ook eentje van wbm.  Ik ben zo blij met deze, dat ik al een ander paar in denim geknipt heb klaar liggen en ik heb nog eentje in corduroy gepland!

Akinori Dress

Today I can show off my Akinori Dress by Wardrobe By Me ! It got revamped a bit with the full size chart. I had this pattern for ages, but never got around to making it . I used rayon? peachskin? something like that. The fabric was rly mean. I finished it and couldn’t even look at it for a few hours cause of the evil fabric. Now the memory has faded tho haha. I really like it now! It’s so so comfy!

You wanne use a nice light fabric with a lot of drape. You can also use knit if you want. But I personally prefer it in a woven and let’s be honest, not too many great woven patterns out there! So my decision was easy. I made a size 22, I didn’t grade out for my waist since there’s a ton of ease there, make sure to check the finished measurements before you decide to blend or not. Sizes run from 0 to 24.

The instructions are clear but I would not say it’s a beginners pattern. I was a bit challenged here and there which doesn’t happend often anymore. But that’s nice! Doing new things ftw! 🙂  I think it also makes a fun beach cover up. There’s 2 views, 1 with the ties and 1 without. Next week is going to be hotter then hot here in Belgium , I intend to wear this one loads! 🙂

Vandaag kan ik mijn Akinori Dress van Wardrobe By Me laten zien! Het werd geüpdate en heeft de volle matentabel van wbm nu. Ik had dit patroon al een eeuwigheid, maar het kwam er maar nooit van. Ik gebruikte viscose? peachskin? zoiets iig. De stof was echt spuug vervelend. Toen het af was heb ik er echt uren niet naar kunnen kijken door de stoute stof haha. Nu is die herinnering weg en vind ik de jurk helemaal leuk. Super comfy ook!

Je gebruikt best een dunnere stof die heel soepel valt. Je kan ook tricot gebruiken als je wil, maar laten we eerlijk zijn, er zijn niet gek veel patronen voor geweven stoffen. Mijn keuze was dus snel gemaakt. Ik maakte maat 52, ik heb niet geblend naar een andere taillemaat omdat er zoveel bewegingsruimte zit in deze jurk. Kijk even goed de afgewerkte afmetingen na voor je beslist wat voor jou het beste is. Maten lopen van 30 tot 54.

De instructies zijn duidelijk, maar ik zou het niet aanraden aan een beginner. Hier en daar vond ik het best uitdagend en dat gebeurt zelden. Maar dat is leuk! Nieuwe dingen doen is goed voor je 🙂 ! Het zou ook een tof jurkje zijn om op het strand over je badpak of bikini te dragen. Er zijn 2 versies, 1 met lint en 1 zonder. Aangezien het volgende week super warm wordt, denk ik dat ik deze vaak ga dragen! 🙂

Harmony T-Shirt

So I really don’t like to sew with Rayon jersey. It’s so stretchy and flubbery. But then I saw the line drawings of this one and I knew I’d have to go fight with rayon lol. No time to overcome a fear as the present rt?! It wasn’t too bad at all tho! This is The Harmony T-Shirtby Wardrobe By me . It features a woven insert , you can pick between 2, this is view A.  I used denim for the insert. The top itself is made out of jersey. You can best choose a knit with a lot of drape, like rayon.

If you, like me, have a fear of sewing a woven to jersey, just go and get yourself some wondertape and tape it together instead of pinning before you sew, works like a charm! The sizing for this 1 is easy! You just take your bust size, in my case I’m between a 20 and 22, so I chose a 20. Then check the finished measurement, I saw that a 20 still gave me loads of room in my waist and hip area, so no need to grade. Sizes run from 0 to 24. The measurements are under the tab sizing in the listing, you can check it out there.

Fit is great, it’s very comfy! The insert is so fun to feature a fun fabric too. You can use a small leftover of your favorite fabric! There’s 2 more views, View B and C. B features another button up insert and C has no insert and is just a plain shirt. I used the cap sleeves, there’s also a “normal” sleeve in different lengths. It’s a rather quick sew and not very difficult, and adventurous beginner can tackle this imo.

Eigenlijk feitelijk naai ik niet zo graag met viscose tricot, het is zo stretchy en flubberig. Dan zag ik de tekening van dit patroon en ik wist al, lap daar komt de viscose lol. Nu ja, je kan je angsten maar beter NU overwinnen toch. En nog eigenlijker feitelijker viel het wel mee ;)! Dit is Het Harmony T-Shirt van Wardrobe By me . Het heeft een leuk detail voor gewoven stoffen, je kan kiezen uit 2, dit is view A. Ik gebruikte er denim voor, de rest van de top is uit tricot. Je kiest het best eentje dat mooi door valt , zoals dus viscose.

Als je zoals ik een beetje bang bent om viscose aan een gewoven stof te naaien, haal jezelf dan een rol wondertape. Ik heb dat met wondertape geplakt ipv gespeld en dat werkte helemaal perfect. De maat kiezen voor deze is best makkelijk. Je kiest gewoon je borstmaat, in mijn geval zit ik tussen 20 en 22 dus ging ik voor 20. Dan bekijk je de tabel met de maten van het afgewerkte kledingstuk en kijk je ff of je genoeg plek hebt. Ik had in maat 20 plek zat op mijn taille en heupen, dus niet nodig om te blenden. Maten lopen van 0 tot 24.  Je kan die tabellen terug vinden op de website van WBM onder het tabje “sizing”.

De pasvorm is super en het is zo comfy! Het detail vooraan is ook leuk om een restje van je favoriete stof nog op te gebruiken! Er zijn nog 2 versies, eentje met een detail met knopen en 1 zonder een gewoven detail. Ik maakte het kapmouwtje, er is ook een “gewone” mouw bij in verschillende lengtes. Het zit vrij snel in elkaar en niet super moeilijk, een avontuurlijke beginner moet hierin wel lukken.

Linea A-Line Skirt

Today I’m showing you all the new release by Wardrobe By Me . The Linea A-Line Skirt is a basic A-Line skirt pattern, with a bunch of options. It’s one of those patterns you’ll use over and over again over the years. It’s designed for knit. I used ponte, so it falls a bit wider then when you’d use a less structured knit. I love the structured look tho :).

 

Sizing runs from 0 to 24, I made a 24. You can choose between 2 different lengths and another version with a volant on the bottom. You can choose pockets or no pockets (who’d do such a thing???) You can also emit the front and back seam if you’d want. There’s elastic in the waist, so no slipping off issues. I made the knee-length version. Fit is totally awesome :).

It’s a very quick sew and beginner friendly. You can make this, I’m sure! I made these pics in my brother in law’s garden, who is single, just saying. (ladies who want to become my sister in law can contact me haha. ) I dressed it up a bit with the high heels (on which I can not walk btw, my hubbie kinde had to move me around like a doll lol). You could dress it down with some nice sneakers too! 🙂

Vandaag laat ik jullie de nieuwe release van Wardrobe By Me zien. De Linea A-Line Rok is een basis A-Lijn rokpatroon, met een hoop opties. Het is 1 van die patronen die je opnieuw en opnieuw gaat gebruiken over de jaren heen. Het is ontworpen voor tricot. Ik gebruikte punta, dus het valt een beetje stijver dan wanneer je een soepelere stof zou gebruiken. Ik vind het wel leuk zo :).

 

Maten lopen van 30 tot 54, ik maakte een 54. je kan kiezen tussen 2 verschillende lengtes en dan nog een volant onderaan. Je kan kiezen wel of geen zakken (maar wie zou nu ooit geen zakken kiezen, wie zijn die mensen? Wat doen ze??? :D). Je kan de naad vooraan en achteraan ook achterwege laten. Er zit elastiek in de taille, dus hij zal niet zo snel af vallen. Ik maakte de knielengte. De pasvorm is prefect.

Het is een snel klaar projectje en heel beginnersvriendelijk. Ook jij kan dit maken, daar ben ik zeker van! Ik maakte deze foto’s in de tuin van mijn schoonbroer, hij is nog single, ik zeg het gewoon maar. (dames die mijn schoonzus willen worden, je kan me contacteren haha.) Ik kleedde het wat op met de hoge hakken (op welke ik niet kan stappen, dus mijn man moest me een beetje ronddragen als een pop lol). Je zou het ook meer casual kunnen maken met een leuke sneaker bijvoorbeeld! 🙂

Tropical Shirt

Wardrobe By Me made another pattern for men. The Tropical Shirt is a relaxed fit shirt. I had such a hard time finding “tropical” themed fabric! I figured it would be everywhere, but no such luck. Droomstoffen was nice enough to go on a search in her store and came up with this cotton and I rly like it! 🙂

Sizing runs from 2xs to 3xl, Hubbie is wearing an M. Construction isn’t overly difficult for a shirt. As far as shirts go I’d say this one is easier than most. It’s a shirt tho, so I’d not say beginner. I would use a less stiff fabric next time tho. The cotton isn’t falling nice and flowy as I like. I’ll be on the hunt for a flowy tropical fabric next :D.

I also have another one in mind, like a bowling style. I think that’d be fun too! Loads of ways to get creative with this pattern! The fit is spot on, I had to alter nothing. I can’t wait what’s next for men at WBM. My hubbie’s side of the dressing is growing and I like it! 😀

Wardrobe By Me maakte een nieuw patroon voor mannen. Het Tropical Shirt is een loszittend shirt. Ik vond het zo moeilijk om “tropische” stof te vinden! Ik dacht dat vind ik zo, nou niet dus! Gelukkig waren ze bij Droomstoffen zo lief om op zoektocht te gaan door de winkel en ze vonden dit! Perfect!

Maten lopen van 2xs tot 3xl. Mijn man draagt een M hier. Het is niet zo heel moeilijk om te maken, in je achterhoofd houdende dat het toch een hemd is. Deze is voor een hemd best makkelijk. Het blijft echt een hemd, dus ik zou het niet aanraden aan beginners. Ik zou volgende keer wel een iets minder stijve stof kopen, zodat het iets soepeler valt. Dus ik ga op zoektocht naar een “tropische” stof die mooi valt :D.

Ik heb nog eentje in gedachten, zo meer bowlingstijl, dat lijkt me ook nog super leuk. Super veel manieren om creatief te zijn met dit patroon. De pasvorm is perfect, ik heb helemaal niks moeten aanpassen. Ik kan al niet wachten om te zien wat het volgende is voor mannen dat WBM ontwerpt. De kant van mijn man in de dressing geraakt voller en daar ben ik super blij om.
