Knock Out Socks

This one can go in the books as the one I never thought I’d make…socks! I knew it could be sewn, I always assumed it was uncomfortable. But when The Wolf and The Tree had a test for their Knock Out Socks I figured why not!

I’ll be honest I was very confused looking at the pattern pieces. That was part down on my inexperience in making socks. Once I got it figured out, it was a breeze. You pick a foot size, leg size, tape them together and blend them and from that point it’s easy sailing. About 10 minutes later you have socks! And I was so wrong they are sooooo comfy, I’ve made myself 6 pairs by now and I’m sad if they are in the wash LOL.

Btw there is something really awkward about photographing your legs! Somehow i really struggle with it lol. But anyways they come in shoe sizes 4 – 13 (I used 9) and body sizes 0 -32W (I used 18W). There’s a load of options to choose from. One pair I did a ruched boot top with buttons. The other I just added a border of elastic lace. There are a ton of options to choose from. Something for everybody. The listing states them all.

They are a great way to get rid of some scrap too imo. I’ve used leftover fabric for all of them! (matching socks for under dresses…yes please! haha)

Deze kan de boeken in gaan als diegene die ik nooit dacht dat ik zou maken….sokken! Ik wist dat het kon, maar ik ging er altijd van uit dat ze heel oncomfortabel waren. Maar wanneer The Wolf and The Tree een test had voor hun Knock Out Socks dacht ik, waarom niet!

Om eerlijk te zijn, ik was erg in de war in het begin. Dat was deels te wijten aan mijn lak aan ervaring in sokken maken. Eens ik het door had was het een eitje. Je kiest je voet maat en je beenmaat, plakt ze samen en laat ze mooi in elkaar overlopen en vanaf dat punt is het super simpel en heb je 10 minuten later je sokken! En ik was helemaal fout, ze zijn echt wel heel comfy. Ik heb nu 6 paar en ik ben telkens wat verdrietig dat ze allemaal in de was zitten en ik gewone sokken moet aan doen lol.

Er is trouwens iets erg raars aan foto’s maken van je benen! Ik vond dat echt heel moeilijk lol. Maar in ieder geval, ze zijn er in schoenmaat 4 – 13 (ik maakte 9) en in beenmaat 0 -32W (ik maakte 18W). Er zijn heel veel opties waar je uit kan kiezen. Ik maakte 1 paar hier met de ruched boottop en de knopen en 1 paar heb ik gewoon een stuk rekbare kant aangezet. Er zijn zoveel opties, voor elk wat wils. Op de site staan ze allemaal.

Ik vind ze ook ideaal voor resten. De mijne zijn allemaal gemaakt uit overgebleven stukken stof (bijpassende sokken bij je jurken? Jaha! 😀 hahaha)
