The battle of the waistbands 😉
-I’m so excited to be part of the Blog Tour for the Chelsea Pants (aff.) by Greenstyle Creations (aff.) . For this blog tour I’ll be showing you an option you might not have thought of. I put a knit waistband on stretch denim legs for this Chelsea Pants! Makes it a tad more comfy for a bigger belly or possibly even a maternity option.
Looking at these pants, not knowing it actually has a knit waistband, nobody would ever know right! I choose a 50% stretch black knit with good recovery for this waistband. It’s easy peasy really. Just cut the patternpieces for the waistband in a knit, sew as instructed and attach to the pants as instructed and tadaa.
I do believe this could also work as a maternity option. Since the less stretchy denim ends up below your belly. Or curvy apples like me might enjoy having more room in this area.
-For my final pair I made one in ribcord with the button hack (included in the pattern). I didn’t think it was possible but I think I love this even more then all before. I feel like I should be going to Woodstock and put a flower in my hair :D.
The button hack really finishes off the waistband imo, plus it gives you the option to open it up if you fear your fabric isn’t stretchy enough to go over your hips. I chose some pretty jeansbuttons. It’s an easy extra step, which really pays off in the end!

De strijd der taillebanden 🙂
-Ik ben zo enthousiast dat ik onderdeel mag zijn van de Blog Tour van de Chelsea Pants (aff.) van Greenstyle Creations (aff.) . Voor deze Blog Tour zal ik jullie een optie laten zien, waar je misschien nog niet aan hebt gedacht. Ik zette een tricot tailleband op de stretch jeans pijpen! Het maakt het net iets comfortabeler voor een vollere buik of kan dienen als optie voor een zwangerschapsbroek.
Als je naar deze broek kijkt, zou je nooit weten dat er een tricot band op zit toch! Ik koos voor een tricot met 50% stretch en goede recovery. Knip gewoon de patroondelen voor de tailleband in die tricot, zet in elkaar per instructie en zet aan de broek per instructie en tadaa.
Ik denk dat dit echt moet werken als een zwangerschapsoptie. Het minder stretchende jeans eindigt immers net onder je buik. Of curvy appeltjes zoals ik hebben misschien ook wel is baadt bij dit idee.
-Mijn laatste paar maakte in ik ribcord met de tailleband met knopen hack (krijg je bij het patroon). Ik dacht niet dat het mogelijk was maar ik hou nog meer van deze dan al de vorige. Ik heb het gevoel dat ik naar Woodstock moet en een bloem in mijn haar moet steken :D.
De knopen hack maakt de tailleband echt af naar mijn mening, als ectra geeft het je ook de mogelijk om hem te openen als je bang bent dat je stof niet genoeg rekt om over je achterste te geraken. Ik koos voor mooie jeansknopen. Het is een makkelijke extra stap , die echt een leuk resultaat geeft.
