Men’s Cargo Shorts

I’m sew excited about this one! I’ve been looking For a Cargo Shorts pattern for men a long time and I know many of you do too. Look no further, Wardrobe By Me now has one!! I was very happy I could test this one.The Men’s Cargo Shorts are great. There’s 2 views. I made view A. View B is more basic without the sidepockets and without the reinforcement at the back.

It comes in sizes 27″ to 36″. I made my husband a size 30″. Funny story comes with this. I needed to know hubbie’s jeanssize so I asked. he says 32″. So Silly me believes him and I make a 32″. He puts it on …..WAAAAAY to big. I was like wth happened here! Then I remembered me asking the size and not checking, so I went to check his size…..what does the label clearly say??? RIGTH! 30!!! So that was me racing to get the 30 tested lol.  The shorts fit perfect, it’s a tad big on his waist so I’ll adjust the waist for him next time. I made this on out of denim.

He loves how there’s so many pockets, enough room for his phone, his wallet, dog treats, doggybags and when I’m lazy and don’t want to bring my bag, my shizzle haha. It’s hot over here so he’s been wearing it loads! I’m so happy I have a great pattern now and I can make more for him!

Ik ben laaiend enthousiast over deze! Ik was al zo lang op zoek naar een cargo short patroon voor mannen zoals velen onder jullie. Wel hier is het! Wardrobe By Me heeft er nu 1!! Ik was zo blij dat ik deze kon testen. The Men’s Cargo Shorts zijn geweldig. Er zijn 2 “views”. Ik maakte versie A, Versie B is meer basic, zonder zijzak en zonder en versterking achteraan.

Het komt in maten 27″ tot 36″. Ik maakte maat 30″ voor mijn man. Hier hangt nog een grappig verhaal rond. Ik moest dus zijn jeansmaat weten, dus ik vraag dat. Hij zegt 32″. Gekke Diskordia gelooft dat, maakt een 32″ en geeft het aan hem om te passen. VEEEEEEEEL te groot! Watskeburt??? Dan viel mijn euro…oww ik heb die maat niet zelf nagekeken….ik ga checken, wat zegt het label??? JUIST JA! 30!!!!Dus daar ging ik om nog snel een short te maken in de test in maat 30″ lol. Nu passen ze prima, het is een beetje groot aan z’n taille, maar dat pas ik volgende keer aan voor hem. Ik maakte deze uit jeans.

Hij vindt het super dat er zoveel zakken zijn, genoeg plek voor z’n smartphone, portefeuille, hondensnoepjes, doggybags en wanneer ik lui ben en geen zin heb om mijn tas mee te nemen, mijn rommel haha. Het is hier best warm dus hij heeft ze al heel vaak gedragen! Ik ben zo blij dat ik nu een goed patroon heb en er nog kan bijmaken voor hem!

Swagger

Welcome to the George + Ginger Festival Fever Blog Tour! Now I never was a festival kinde girl. I did go out A LOT during the 90’s. When I saw The Swagger Sweater 16 yo me fell in love. I so so would have worn this. I chose this bright orange Cotton lycra, cause that’s what I would have picked back then too! If only I had purple hair at that time too haha!

38 yo me and 16 yo me are not that different tho. I still try to let the young me lead the way when it comes to my clothes, so I’m still so thrilled with this outfit. I love the back! I wasn’t a big fan of my peplum skirt, but this I love! Sizing runs from tween to 5xl for this, I made a 2xl bust, 3xl waist.

This was the first time I used a G&G pattern and I loved the way it’s layed out. It was the quickest assembly of a pattern ever! I’ll def. have a try at other patterns of theirs, cause I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this a lot! I’m already planning a winter version and plaid 😉 .

Welkom bij de to  George + Ginger Festival Fever Blog Tour! Nu was ik nooit echt een festival type, maar ik ging wel heel erg graag op stap in de jaren ’90. Toen ik De Swagger Sweater  zag, was 16 jarige ikke er direct gek van. Ik zou dit helemaal gedragen hebben toen. Ik koos deze fel oranje katoen jersey, want dat is wat ik toen ook zou gekozen hebben! Had ik toen ook maar paars haar gehad haha!

38 jaar oude ik en 16 jaar oude ik zijn echt niet zo verschillend. Ik laat de jongste nog altijd de weg leiden als het op kleding aan komt, dus ik ben nog altijd super blij met deze outfit. De achterkant is geweldig! Ik was geen grote fan van mijn peplumrok, maar deze top is geweldig! Maten lopen van tween tot 5xl, ik maakte 2xl buste en 3xl taille.

Dit was de eerste keer dat ik een patroon van G&G gebruikte en ik was erg blij met hoe de lay out van de patroondelen is. Nog nooit zo snel een patroon geplakt! Ik probeer zeker nog andere van hun patronen, want ik heb een voorgevoel dat ik dit heel vaak ga dragen! Ik ben al een versie aan het plannen voor in de winter in ruitjes ;).

Cora Cocoon Cardigan

You know I love all things by Rebecca Page , so it’s no surprise I tested her latest release. The Cora Cocoon is such a fun sew and soooo quick! You can make 1 in a jiffy! It’s so fun to wear and so snug, it’s like wearing a blanket with sleeves! I foresee many hours of cocooning in it in my future!

The pink striped one is cotton jersey, the one with the dots is french terry. Sizing runs from xxs to 5xl. I made a 3xl. There’s also a girls version, so you can wrap all ladies in the house in cora’s ;), even the dolls get a version!  I’m wearing a pair of Pippa Pants with both of em. The ideal cocooning combo tbh!

It has been pretty hot over het in Belgium, so I haven’t gotten much use out of them , but it was very chilly yesterday and I was very happy wrapping up in a Cora for tv and binging on Billions :D.

Zoals je ondertussen wel weet, ik hou van alles van Rebecca Page , het is dus vast geen grote verrassing dat ik haar laatste release heb getest. De Cora Cocoon is zo’n leuk project en zoooooo snel! Het is echt zo klaar. Het is zo leuk ook om te dragen en helemaal gezellig, het is alsof je een deken draagt met armen. Ik voorspel veel uurtje “cocooning” met deze vest in de toekomst!

De roos gestreepte versie is katoen tricot, die met de stippen is french terry. Maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl. Ik maakte 3xl. Er is ook een versie voor meisjes, dus je kan alle dames in huis inpakken in Cora’s, zelfs de poppen kregen een versie! Ik draag bij beide een paar Pippa Pants . De ideale “cocooning” combo!

Nu is het hier al warm geweest in de Lage Landen, dus ik heb ze nog niet zo vaak kunnen dragen, maar gisterenavond was het toch frisjes en heb ik gezellig kunnen cocoonen in mijn Cora voor tv, terwijl ik billions zat te bingen :D.

Rosanna Tank & Dress

I got to test for 5 out of 4 Patterns again. The Rosanna is a tank / dress which you can also make as a swim top! Now I’m no big swimmer. Not drowning is my main accomplishment in that department, so I went for the dress. (For the record I can swim, I’m just not going to win any medals ;). ) Anyways Just as with Gloria this dress includes a FBA piece, which is especially exciting since this top has princessy seams, not quite a “normal” princess seam, but more like a cool insert at the side. I love it!

There’s 2 skirt options, half circle and full circle and both come in 4 lengths. I made the half circle in the dress length for both. The front neckline has 2 options, a high and low scoop, I went for the low scoop. There’s also the option to add a build in shelf bra, which is great for swimming, but I left it off for the dress. You can also use the bra as a “stand alone” item so you have a tankini.

Another option is a strappy back. Both a wide and a narrow strap. I cut 5 narrow straps for my floral one and made my own design! It’s a cool thing to have fun with! 🙂 Sizing runs from xxs to 5xl, with or without FBA. I made a 1xl FBA graded to a 2xl waist (no worries, the tutorial explains you how to specifically grade this bodice). Fits me like a glove!

With the blue one I had some fun with my cutting machine and I ended up putting a flower on my skirt. You can have fun too with the topstitching. I went all professional ahum and used me cover and white thread to match the flower. I love my new dresses and I hope you do too! 🙂

Ik mocht weer testen voor 5 out of 4 Patterns. De Rosanna is een tank / jurk, welke je ook kan maken als zwem top! Nu is mijn grootste overwinning ivm. zwemmen niet verdrinken, dus ik ging voor de jurk. (Voetnoot ik kan heus wel zwemmen, maar medailles zal ik niet winnen ;).) Iig, net als bij Gloria heeft deze jurk ook een patroondeel voor een volle buste. Helemaal tof, omdat de top prinsesachtige naden heeft en wie heeft zin om die zelf aan te passen he. Het is geen “normale” prinsessennaad, eerder coole inzetstukken aan de zijkant. Ik vind het helemaal top!

Er zijn 2 rok opties, halve cirkel en volle cirkelrok, beide komen in 4 lengtes. Ik maakte de halve cirkel in jurk lengte voor beide. De neklijn vooraan heeft 2 opties, een hoge ronde nek of een diepe. Ik maakte de diepe. Er is ook een optie om een beha erin te maken, wat top is om te zwemmen, maar ik liet het eraf voor de jurk. Je kan de beha ook apart gebruiken als tankini.

Een andere optie zijn de bandjes achteraan. Je hebt brede en smalle bandjes. Ik maakte 5 smalle bandjes en bedacht mijn eigen manier om ze erop te zetten! Leuk om is crea bea mee te zijn! 🙂 Maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl, met of zonder aanpassing voor volle buste. Ik maakte een 1xl volle buste en een 2xl taille (geen paniek, de instructies leggen je exact uit hoe dit te doen met dit lijfje). Past als gegoten!

Met de blauwe heb ik de scan n cut bovengehaald en een bloem gemaakt voor op de rok. Je kan ook leuk spelen met je topstitchen. Ik ging er helemaal los op met mijn cover en witte draad, zodat dat bij de bloem paste. Ik ben gek op mijn nieuwe jurken, hopelijk jullie ook! 🙂

The Helen Dress

I bought the fabric on the picture above, specifically for a maxi dress. I had a dress in my head at the time. Skip a month forward and The Diby.Club posts a tester call for The Helen dress, the exact dress in my head! So that was me testing! I love testing for them, cause they have such a huge size range, that I’m always happy there’s more patterns of them out there! Sizing runs from 00 to plus 36, I made a plus 18 bust graded to a 20 waist.

I made both dresses with the racerback back, you can use the dolman bodice tho, for 1 I used the solid front, for the other one the Cross Over front. You have all these fronts with the dolman bodice too. The skirt has different length options, split options and an option for pockets. The drawstring makes it casual. In my head it’s the perfect dress for a crazy hot day, a beach may or may not be involved. Diby.club patterns always include an extensive guide on how to alter for fit. From a FBA till grading it’s all explained very well in the tutorial!

The pink one is cotton jersey, the other a complete mystery knit. I didn’t make any alterations except the grade. I love to wear racerback bra’s so I’m a huge fan of racerback dresses and tops. I’m sure I’ll get to wear this loads with summer being so early this year here in Belgium. I chose the split option for both, cause I like the look so much.

Ik kocht de stof, op de foto hieronder, specifiek voor een maxi jurk uit te maken. Ik had een heel gedetailleerd beeld van hoe die moest zijn. Spring even een maand verder en  De Diby.Club post een oproep voor testers voor De Helen Dress, de exacte jurk in mijn hoofd! Ik deed dus graag weer mee :D! Ik test met veel plezier voor hen omdat ze zo’n groot maatbereik  hebben.(van maat 00 tot plus 36, ik maakte een plus18 buste gegradeerd naar een plus20 taille)

I maakte beide jurken met een racer back achterkant, je kan ook voor een dolman lijfje kiezen.  Voor de roze gebruikte ik de volle voorkant, voor de zwart/witte de gekruiste voorkant. Je hebt beide voorkanten ook met de dolman. De rok heeft verschillende lengte opties, split opties en een optie voor zakken. Het touwtje in de taille maakt het casual.  In mijn hoofd is het de perfecte jurk voor een hete dag, een strand is optioneel een goed idee! De patronen van de Diby.club hebben altijd een uitgebreid stuk over hoe aan te passen voor de perfecte pasvorm. Van volle buste aanpassing tot maten graderen, alles wordt uitgelegd!

De roze is katoen tricot, de andere….geen flauw idee!? :D. Ik maakte geen aanpassingen, behalve het gaderen. Ik hou ervan om raceback beha’s te dragen, dus ik ben helemaal fan van racerback jurken en tops. Ik ben er zeker van dat ik dit veel ga dragen met dat de zomer hier zo vroeg is gearriveerd. Ik koos de split opties voor beide, want dat vind ik een heel toffe look.
