Skylar Knit Raglan Hoodie

I’m normally not a hoodie person, I was more than happy to make an exception for this one tho! The Skylar Hoodie by Sinclair Patterns is too cute to pass up! The princess seams give you shape and add a feminine look. They also have a pocket incorporated.  It comes with a few hood options (or even hoodless), normal cuffs and thumb hole cuffs. I did the thumb hole cuffs, So handy for when I’m walking the dog!

Sizing runs from us0 to us22. I made a us18 bust, us20 waist. Don’t worry, in the instructions are clear directions how to blend this one! Fit is great, I can wear it without a shirt or with a shirt underneath if it gets really cold. Construction isn’t overly difficult, a confident beginner would manage imo with the instructions being so clear.

The pink fabric with the fries is french terry, the white is moltoned sweater. These fabrics make for a very cozy soft hoodie 🙂 . I had been hoarding the pink for a year or so, no idea what to use it for, till this pattern popped up. It must have been sitting in my stash for this I think :). The only downfall is I get hungry every time I see myself in a mirror. lol

Ik ben normaal niet zo’n groot hoodie persoon, maar ik had er geen probleem mee om een uitzondering te maken voor deze. De Skylar Hoodie van Sinclair Patterns is te leuk om over te slaan! De prinsessenaden geven je vorm en voegen een vrouwelijke toets toe. Ze verbergen ook een zak. Je hebt nog een paar kap opties, zelfs kaploos. Er zijn ook gewone polsbanden en duimgat (???) polsbanden, die maakte ik. Die zijn zo ideaal wanneer ik de hond moet uitlaten!

Maten lopen van eu38 tot eu60. Ik maakte een eu56 buste, eu58 taille. Maak je geen zorgen, in de instructies staat heel duidelijk hoe je dit met deze trui doet! De pasvorm is super, ik kan er een shirt onderaan wannneer het nog kouder is en nu zonder. Het is niet zo gek moeilijk om te maken, met de instructies ernaast moet een beginner met wat ervaring dit wel kunnen :).

De roze stof met de frieten is french terry, het witte is gemoltoneerde sweater. Deze stoffen maken het een heel gezellige, zachte hoodie :). Ik had het roze al een hele tijd liggen, maar ik wist niet goed wat ermee te doen. Dan kwam dit patroon en het was direct duidelijk dat het dit moest worden. het enige nadeel is dat ik honger krijg telkens ik in een spiegel kijk. lol

The Malala

The Malala by Diby is here and it’s love!  I fell in love the moment I saw this was going into testing! A sweater (dress) with some swing and a cool collar! What’s not to love! Fit is great and sizing runs from misses00 tot plus36, get in! I made a plus 18 graded to a 20 waist. I made the dress length, there’s more hem options , from shirt to dress, banded, not banded,…

I made mine out of a butter soft french terry.  I choose the cuffed sleeve, there’s again more options. The instructions are great! The construction of the collar is a bit of a challenge, but an experienced beginner can surely tackle it!  Plus you get so so many fitting advice at Diby, it’s a bit of a sewing lesson and a pattern in one at Diby. 🙂

I seriously love this collar, it comes high up your neck, so perfect for those days with cold, chilly winds. I’m very proud I managed to find like the perfect buttons rt!? Having a weird random button stash ftw! 😀

De Malala van Diby is hier en ik ben er gek op! Het was liefde op het eerste gezicht wanneer ik zag dat deze in testing ging! Een sweater (jurk)met swing en een coole kraag! Wat kan daar nu niet geweldig aan zijn. De pasvorm is super  en het matenbereik loopt van dames00 tot plus36, woop! Ik maakte een plus 18buste en plus20 taille. Ik koos de jurklengte, er zijn nog meer opties van shirtlengte tot jurk, met band,zonder band, …

Ik maakte mijne uit een super zachte French Terry. Ik koos de mouwen met polsbanden, er zijn alweer nog meer opties. De instructies zijn geweldig! De constructie van de kraag is een beetje een uitdaging , maar een beginner met wat ervaring moet dit wel lukken! Je krijgt bovendien zoveel informatie rond pasvorm en aanpassingen bij DIBY, het is een beetje een gratis naailes er bovenop daar. 🙂

Ik hou zoveel van deze kraag, hij komt hoog en is dus ideaal voor koude winderige dagen, zoals nu eigenlijk feitelijk. Ik ben serieus trots op mijn knopenvondst. Hoe goed passen die erbij! Een rare compleet willekeurige knopenverzameling is zo slecht nog niet 😀

Hepburn Pants

Words can’t describe how I feel about this pattern. It’s The Hepburn Pants from Wardrobe By Me . It’s not easy and that is an understatement to be curvy and find pants with a zipper that actually fit. I gave up on this long ago in RTW. So I went into this test preparing to make it and it not fitting (sorry Christina! ), but oh boy was I wrong! These fit! They not only fit, the fit perfectly! I can even sit in them! I know rt!!!

Sizing on these run from us0 to us24 . I made a us24. I shortened it to fit my short inseam ;). It features 2 welt back pockets, 2 frontpockets , a zipper, beltloops and 2 sweep options, I made sweep A (the more narrow sweep). I chose a cotton sateen. You need a fabric with a bit of stretch, woven or knit.

I’m going to need a load more of these, so comfy! I’m so happy I’m wearing real pants! haha 😀 I paired it with The Daisy Dolman, also by Warderobe By Me. First time I made this pattern and I love it! 🙂

Ik kan amper onder woorden brengen wat ik denk over dit patroon. Het is De Hepburn Broek van Wardrobe By Me . Het is niet makkelijk om curvy te zijn en een broek te vinden met rits die past en dat is dan nog een understatement. In de winkel heb ik dit al lang opgegeven. Dus ik ging in deze test met de gedachte, past vast niet (sorry Christina!), maar oooh wat was ik fout! Deze passen! Ze passen niet alleen, ze passen perfect! Ik kan er zelfs in zitten! Echt he!!!

De maten voor dit patroon lopen van us0 tot us24, ik maakte us24. Ik korte ze wat in voor mijn korte benen. Het heeft 2 zakken achteraan, 2 zakken vooraan, een rits, riemlussen en 2 pijpbreedtes. Ik koos Breedte A (de smalste) en  voor een katoen stretch stofje. Je hebt een stof nodig met een beetje stretch, gewoven of gebreid.

Ik ga er nog veel meer nodig hebben, zo comfy! Ik ben zo blij dat ik een echte broek kan dragen! haha 😀 Ik heb er De Daisy Dolman bijgemaakt, ook van Wardrobe By Me. De eerste keer dat ik deze maakte en ik vind hem echt leuk! 🙂

Mae Poncho Sweater

Never in my life did I own a poncho, so I gave it a go with the Mae Poncho Sweater from Diby.  This pattern is beyond versatile. So so many options! You can do the open sides, like I did. Or go more for a sweater look with closed sides. A hood or no hood like me, different sleevelengths and a cowl. I also made the belt myself.

I chose a very slinky 2way stretch knit. I have no idea what it is or where I even got it haha. I like how the belt still gives you a waist. It’s a quick fun sew, not too difficult. I made a plus 18, I didn’t grade out for my hips, since there’s plenty of room. Sizing runs from misses 00 tot plus 36, so very inclusive as always at Diby. I love them for this! We all get to play :D.

You’d think by the way that after the longest summer in my life my legs wouldn’t look like they are in casts, I think I can safely assume by now that it’s their permanent state. The struggle is real!

Nog nooit bezat ik een poncho, dus ik probeerde het is met de Mae Poncho Sweater van Diby.  Dit patroon is super veelzijdig. Er zijn zo zo zoveel opties. Je kan de open zijkanten doen, zoals ik. Of je gaat meer voor een sweater look met de gesloten zijkanten. Een kap of geen kap , zoals ik, verschillende mouwlengtes en een kraag, ik maakte ook de riem zelf.

Ik koos een heel flubberige 2way stretch stof. Ik heb geen flauw idee wat het is en nog minder van waar ik het heb haha. De riem geeft je toch nog een taille en dat vind ik wel tof! Het is een niet al te moeilijk, leuk snel klaar projectje. Ik maakte maat plus 18, ze lopen van dames00 tot plus36, dus heel inclusief zoals altijd bij diby. Ik hou echt van hen hierom! We mogen allemaal meespelen :D.

Je zou trouwens denken dat na de langste zomer in mijn leven, mijn benen er niet meer uitzagen alsof ze in gips zitten. Ik denk dat ik veilig kan stellen dat dat hun permanente status is. The struggle is real!

Lola Pants

“She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, “Lola”
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola”

This song has been stuck in my head ever since I started testing these pants, heck I even made my bff name her new car Lola! 5oo4 designed this beautiful pants, Lola . They are high waisted, wide legged paper bag waist pants. There’s different lengths from shorts to full length. You can add the beltloops and bow or leave it if you prefer.

They are designed for woven or  for knit with 2 way stretch. I made mine in a very thin denim. I made a 2XL. The fit was spot on right away. Sizing runs from xxs to 5xl. The only thing I had to do is shorten for my inseam, but that’s a very normal alteration for me. They sew up very fast, one of those quicker to make then to wash patterns.

I really love em, they are extremely comfortable and right on trend for the season. The instructions are clear and I’d think a beginner van easily tackle these. I paired it with 1 of my Jessie’s , also from 5oo4. You can read my thoughts on Jessie here: Blog Jessie. They make a great combo imo. I’m sure I’ll be wearing these loads in fall!

Dit nummer zit al in mijn hoofd sinds de test voor deze broek begon, ik heb zelfs mijn bff zover gekregen haar nieuwe auto Lola te noemen lol! 5oo4 ontwierp deze prachtige broek, Lola.  De broek is hoog in de taille, heeft wijde pijpen en heeft een “paper bag” taille. Er zijn verschillende lengtes van short tot enkellengte. Je kan de riemlussen en strik toevoegen of niet als je dat niet leuk vindt.

Ze zijn ontworpen voor geweven stoffen of stretchstoffen met 2way stretch. Ik maakte de mijne uit een heel lichte denim. Ik maakte een 2XL. De pasvorm was direct perfect. De maten lopen van xxs to 5xl. Het enige dat ik moest aanpassen is de lengte, maar dat is een normale aanpassing voor mij. Ze zijn zeer snel klaar, ‘t is zo eentje dat sneller is om te maken dan om te wassen.

Ik vind ze echt heel tof, extreem comfortabel en helemaal in de mode voor dit seizoen. De instructies zijn duidelijk, ik zou denken dat dit prima lukt voor een beginner. Ik combineerde met 1 van mijn Jessie’s , ook van 5oo4. Je kan mijn gedachten over Jessie hier lezen:  Blog Jessie.  Het is een goed duo naar mijn mening. Ik ga deze zeker nog vaak dragen in de herfst.
