Walk the Plank PJ Bottoms

Here I am again with a freebie! I love jumping on the chance to show you guys free patterns. This one is by Patterns for Pirates . The pattern are unisex PJ Bottoms! They are made out of wovens, loose fitted and a very very quick sew. They have a elastic waist, there’s different inseams to choose from, so no messing with adjusting for height. I made the plus 1X, 30′ inseam. Sizing runs from xxs to plus 3xl. You can do em in full length, knee-length or shorts-length.

There’s also a version for children, so you can have your whole family sorted for free! And can I suggest this would not make a bad Christmas gift either! Win win win!

Hier ben ik weer met een gratis patroon! Ik vind het altijd tof wanneer ik de kans krijg om jullie wat gratis te laten zien. Deze is van  Patterns for Pirates . Het patroon is een unisex pyjamabroek! Je maakt ze uit geweven stoffen, ze zijn lekker los en ze zitten in elkaar voor je het weet. Er zit elastiek in de taille, er zijn verschillende binnenbeen lengtes om van te kiezen, dus geen gedoe met gokken of ze te lang gaan zijn. I maakte de plus 1X, 30′ binnenbeen lengte (wat een woord he :p). Maten lopen van xxs tot plus 3xl. Je kan kiezen uit de lange versie, knie lengte of short lengte.

Er is ook een versie voor kinderen/jongeren, dus heel je familie kan voorzien worden met een gratis patroon! Enne shhht, maar zou dit geen leuk kerstkado zijn? Win win win!

Cool runnings…

So the dog and me need to go running. Me because I could do with a bit more stamina. The dog has to because well I don’t wanna run alone! :D. Normally one would start off with buying a running outfit. I get to start with making one. The ideal time to test the new updated FREE 😀 peg legs from Patterns for pirates and their new add ons. I made them with the new contoured waistband and a gusset. They are insanely comfy and don’t fall down! (which is always a plus!). If you don’t have this pattern yet, grab it, it’s awesome and did I mention: FREE! 😀

For the running top I chose the Cross my heart Cami from Patterns for Pirates. Doing all those bands with my fairly new cover was a challenge I won’t lie! But I learned a whole lot about my new machine. After a few hours of fiddling with bands, this was the result and I’m happy with it. I def. need to make more and practice! I also need to size up a tad I think, cause I find it just a bit too fitting around the bust. I graded between 2XL and plus 1X, next time I’ll just go full plus 1x. And now the only thing missing…a sportsbra….to be continued!

De hond en ik moeten gaan lopen. Ik omdat ik wat meer conditie kan gebruiken. De hond, tja die moet omdat ik niet alleen wil gaan! 😀 De meeste mensen beginnen met loopkledij te kopen. Ik begin natuurlijk met loopkledij te maken. Het ideale moment om de nieuwe geupdate GRATIS:D peg legs vanPatterns for pirates en de nieuwe add-ons te testen. Ik maakte de nieuwe “contoured” tailleband en een inzet ter hoogte van het kruis (hebben we daar een nederlands woord voor??? :D). Ze zijn belachelijk comfy en ze vallen niet af! (altijd een plus!). Als je dit patroon nog niet hebt, download het snel, het is geweldig en zei ik al: GRATIS! 😀

Als loop top koos ik de Cross my heart Cami van Patterns for Pirates. Al die biezen met mijn relatief nieuwe cover was een uitdaging, serieus! Maar ik heb heel wat geleerd van en over mijn nieuwste machine. Na een paar uur gepruts met biezen was dit dan het resultaat en ik ben er zeker blij mee. Ik zal er echter nog wat moeten maken om te oefenen op die bandjes! Ik ga volgende keer ook een maatje groter maken, het is net wat krap op de buste. Ik heb bovenaan maat 2XL gebruikt en naar de taille en de heupen toe plu 1x,  de volgende wordt volledig plus 1X. En dan missen we nu nog alleen een sportbeha….wordt vervolgd!

This pattern has recently been released. I wasn’t that interested when it first was released by Patterns for Pirates. But after seeing many pictures the dress length version started to spark my interest. I especially loved the curved hemline!

I’m sure I’ll make up other versions then the dress length too, but atm I’m starting to get addicted to these :D. The white one with the horrible print was my test version since I needed to grade the pattern from bust 2XL to waist/hips Plus 1XL. This was actually my first ever go at that and I love how it fits! 🙂 Nevertheless, the white one will be promoted to a nightgown, cause well the fabric is just plain ugly :D. And hey one needs nightgowns too!

And now I shall have to store the pretty neon pink one till summer arrives….I AM PREPARED :D.

Dit patroon is recent uitgekomen. Ik was er eigenlijk niet zo weg van toen het uitkwam bij patterns for Pirates. Maar nadat ik heel wat versies zag van de jurkversie, begon ik toch nieuwsgierig te zijn, vooral de afgeronde zoom vind ik erg tof!

Ik maak vast ook nog andere versies dan de jurk versie, maar ik ben even verslaafd aan deze. De witte met de vreselijke print was mijn testversie, omdat ik van buste 2XL naar taille/heup plus1XL moest. Ik had nog nooit een patroon aangepast en ik vind het super hoe het nu past! 🙂 Desalniettemin zal de witte met vreselijke print toch gedegradeerd worden tot nachtkleedje, de stof is gewoon te erg :D. En hey nachtkleedjes zijn ook belangrijk!

En nu gaat de neon roze in de kast tot zomer eindelijk langskomt….IK BEN ER KLAAR VOOR. 😀

Spring is in the air!

A few weeks back I bought The Sweetheart Dress by patterns for pirates and a beautiful fabric by Stenzo Textiles. When I taped together the pattern I got a tad nervous, not one dart, no princess seams, no nothing. I was well scared I’d end up with a t-shirt like dress without any shape or form. I always got told that one needs darts in dresses for a good fit, wel….WRONG. This dress has a very nice fit without!

The pattern tries to make things as easy as possible, neck binding with FOE, sleeve binding with FOE. It also suggested you can leave the skirt unhemmed, but I can not handle that. That would bug me till eternity, so I hemmed it with my coverstitch. I’m wearing a Plus 1XL and it’s definitely roomy enough, I’d probably try to size down next time.

I decided to make up a legging especially for the dress too. Waistband same fabric as the dress, Same white fabric for the legs and added a nice lace trim, just because I can!

Een paar weken geleden kocht ik de Sweetheart Dress door patterns for pirates en een prachtig stofje van Stenzo Textiles. Wanneer ik het patroon aan elkaar aan het plakken was, werd ik een beetje nerveus, geen figuurnaden, geen prinsesnaden, noppes. Ik was bang dat ik ging eindigen met een t-shirt als jurk zonder vorm. Er is mij altijd verteld dat deze nodig zijn voor een goeie pasvorm….FOUT. Deze jurk heeft een goeie pasvorm zonder!

Het patroon probeert alles zo makkelijk mogelijk te maken. Neklijn wordt afgewerkt met elastische biais, de mouwen ook. Het gaf ook de tip dat je de rok zonder zoom kan laten, maar dat kan ik niet aan. Dat zou me eeuwig storen, dus toch maar gezoomd met mijn coverlock. Ik draag een Plus 1XL en er is zeker ruimte genoeg, Ik probeer misschien nog wel is een maatje kleiner.

Ik vond dat deze jurk een eigen legging mocht hebben. De print voor de tailleband, de pijpen in het wit en een kanten randje onderaan omdat het kan!

Peg Legs!

While looking around on the net i found a pattern from Patterns for Pirates for leggings, The Peg legs. They are without an elastic, but with the right fabric they do stay up. The pattern has a wide range of sizes,  so ideal for us cruvy girls! I was lucky and i fit into them straight away, without any alterations.

I made 3 pairs so far and my favourite has to be the owl version! Owls….just because i can!

Now for the best part! If you become a member of the fbgroup Patterns of Pirates made, you can find a code to get this pattern for free! 🙂 So get yourself into this group (it’s a great group with lots of enthousiastic members) and grab yourself the patern!

Terwijl ik aan het rond kijken was op het net, op zoek naar een patroon voor leggings, vond ik de Peg legs. Zonder elastiek, maar met de juiste stofkeuze blijven ze toch zitten. Het patroon heeft een groot matenbereik, dus ideaal voor ons “curvy” dames ! Ik had geluk en ze pasten direct zonder enige aanpassing.
Ik heb tot hiertoe 3 versies gemaakt en de uilenversie is mijn favoriet ! Uilen…..gewoon omdat het kan!

Nu dan het beste nieuws! Als je lid wordt van de fbgroep van Patterns of Pirates, kan je daar een code vinden waarmee je de leggings helemaal gratis kan krijgen! 🙂 Dus maak jezelf snel lid van deze groep (een toffe groep met heel enthousiaste leden) en je kan weldra aan de slag met het patroon!
