Oh my ! It has been a while since I blogged due to circumstances and life happening. (I hate when life happends 😦 ) Anyways, here I am again and I made a very fun pair. It’s the Talia Bundle by Rebecca Page . The bundle consists of a twisted top and a fun swingy dress or tunic. I chose the dress length and short sleeves on the top. Both are made out of cotton jersey.

Sizing runs from xxs to 5xl. I’m between a 2 and 3xl for my bust so I chose the 2xl bust and 3xl waist and hips. I kinde wish I made the dress in a more flowy fabric, I’d recommend something like rayon jersey. I’ll def. try that myself too. I like the fit, but I would add a bit of length to the front next time, cause the dress kinde pops higher when you wear it with the twist top., but come to think of it that might actually also be the cotton being naugthy.

I didn’t think of taking a pic without the twist top, so you can’t see how I finished the dress, but I swear I finished it with straps in FOE lol. I really like the concept of this duo tho. It’s very fun to wear and ideal for the nice weather we’re having here in Belgium atm. The instructions are clear and I’d rate it for an advanced beginner.

Oh jee ! Het is al even geleden dat ik nog een blog heb gepost, door omstandigheden en “life happening”. (Ik haat het wanneer dat gebeurt 😦 ) In ieder geval, hier ben ik weer en ik maakte een tof duo! Het is de Talia Bundel van Rebecca Page . De bundel bestaat uit een getorste top en een swing jurkje of tuniek. Ik koos de jurklengte en korte mouwen voor de top. Beide zijn gemaakt van katoen tricot.

Maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl. Ik zit voor mijn buste tussen 2 en 3xl, dus ik koos 2xl voor de buste en 3xl voor taille en heupen. Ik had de jurk beter in een iets soepele stof gemaakt, zoals bv. viscose tricot. Dat ga ik zeker nog eens proberen. Ik vind de pasvorm goed, maar ik zou bij een volgende een beetje lengte toevoegen aan de voorkant, want als je er de top overdraagt, springt de zoom een beetje naar boven. Nu dat ik dat hier uit typ, bedenk ik dat dat ook wel is aan de katoen kan liggen die stout is.

Ik heb er niet aan gedacht om een foto te nemen zonder de top, maar ik beloof echt dat ik de bandjes heb gemaakt uit elastische bias (foe) lol. Ik vind dit duo een super leuk concept. ideaal voor het lekker weertje nu. De instructies zijn duidelijk, ik zou zeggen dat dit perfect kan voor een gevorderde beginner.

It’s been a while since I tested a dress, cause frankly I have too many, but I couldn’t pass The Mariella Dress by Rebecca Page . I was intrigued by the knot, I tried a knotted top when I was just sewing and it got my head spinning haha. So I felt it was time to get over the knotfear. This pattern is designed for knits, I used a lightweight cotton jersey.

It comes in sizes xxs to 5xl. I made a 2xl. I chose the shortest sleeve length, There’s 2 to choose from. I made the longest skirt, there’s more options up till a topversion. This is the short frill, you can do a longer one or an asymmetrical one too. It’s a very quick sew once you get your head around the knot part. I’d suggest to not overthink it and make sure you have room to lay out your pieces when pinning so you see what you are doing.

The coolest thing about this dress, there is no hemming involved whatsoever! whoop whoop! Almost feels like cheating haha. I think I might chop a bit off the length, but I want to wear it with boots first, see how I feel about the length then. I plan on making a topversion next, I think that’ll be cute on jeans!

Het is al een tijdje geleden dat ik nog is een jurk testte, want nou ja ik heb er niet bepaald nodig, maar ik kon De Mariella Dress van Rebecca Page niet overslaan. Ik was best gefascineerd door de knoop vooraan. Ik heb ooit zoiets geprobeerd wanneer ik net begon en dat deed toen best pijn aan mijn brein haha. Dusse hoogtijd om over de knoop angst te geraken. Dit patroon is ontworpen voor stretchstoffen, ik gebruikte een lichte katoen tricot.

De maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl. Ik koos de kortste mouwlengte. Er zijn er 2 om uit te kiezen. Ik maakte de langste rok, er zijn nog opties tot een topversie toe. Dit is de korste “frill”, er is nog een langere en je kan ze ook asymmetrisch combineren. Het is snel klaar eens je door hebt hoe die knoop werkt. Ik zou aanraden om het niet te overdenken en om te zien dat je ruimte hebt om je top uit te leggen zodat je goed ziet wat je aan het spelden bent.

Het leukste aan deze jurk, je hoeft nergens te zomen! Whoop Whoop! Het lijkt wel vals spelen haha. Ik denk dat ik nog wat van de lengte af ga halen, maar ‘k wil het eerst is dragen met laarzen en dan zie ik dan wel wat ik ervan denk. Ik ga nog zeker een topversie maken, lijkt me leuk op een jeans!

I’m very excited to be part of the Turning the page: Sewing for the Changing Season Blog Tour! For me the pattern that pops to mine is The Taylor Trench Coat. I myself already have 2, so I decided to make one for my mom! She gave birth to me, the least I can do is make her a coat rt!?

If you want more info on this pattern, you can find my blog about it here: Blog Taylor Trench . I wear a 3xl, my mom is an m. So it was a very funny experience, everything seemed so small haha. I guess in reality my stuff is just big, but it’s a glass half full, half empty situation :D. She choose twill for the outer and cotton poplin for the lining. I can tell you fit is spot on for 3xl and spot on for m! 🙂

The coat looks so good on her, I bet she’ll wear it loads! I will always really love this pattern, it’s such a long sew but so worth it and every woman should have a trench in her closet for fall. Make it and feel empowered and ready to tackle fall!

Ik ben zo blij dat ik deel mag uit maken van de Turning the page: Sewing for the Changing Season Blog Tour! Het patroon dat direct in mijn hoofd sprong is De Taylor Trench Coat. Ik heb er zelf al 2, dus ik besliste er eentje te maken voor mijn moedertje! Ze heeft me op de wereld gezet, het minste dat ik kan doen is voor haar een jas maken toch!?

Als je meer info wil over dit patroon, hier vindt je mijn voorgaande blog over de trench: Blog Taylor Trench . Ik draag een 3xl, mijn moedertje is een m. Het was best een grappige ervaring, alles leek zo klein tijden het naaien. Hmm in feite is alles van mij natuurlijk gewoon groot, maar ‘t is een glas halfvol, halfleeg ding denk ik :D. Ze koos keperkatoen voor de buitenkant en katoen poplin voor de voering. Ik kan melden zowal 3xl als m vallen prima als je de matentabel volgt! 🙂

Ze staat supergoed met de jas, ik ben er zeker van dat ze hem veel kan dragen! Ik zal altijd veel van dit patroon houden, het is een lang project, maar het is het zo waard en elke vrouw zou een trench in haar kast moeten hebben voor de herfst. Maak er ook 1 en voel jezelf empowered en klaar om de herfst in te gaan!

You know I love all things by Rebecca Page , so it’s no surprise I tested her latest release. The Cora Cocoon is such a fun sew and soooo quick! You can make 1 in a jiffy! It’s so fun to wear and so snug, it’s like wearing a blanket with sleeves! I foresee many hours of cocooning in it in my future!

The pink striped one is cotton jersey, the one with the dots is french terry. Sizing runs from xxs to 5xl. I made a 3xl. There’s also a girls version, so you can wrap all ladies in the house in cora’s ;), even the dolls get a version! I’m wearing a pair of Pippa Pants with both of em. The ideal cocooning combo tbh!

It has been pretty hot over het in Belgium, so I haven’t gotten much use out of them , but it was very chilly yesterday and I was very happy wrapping up in a Cora for tv and binging on Billions :D.

Cora Cocoon Cardigan Rebecca Page
Zoals je ondertussen wel weet, ik hou van alles van Rebecca Page , het is dus vast geen grote verrassing dat ik haar laatste release heb getest. De Cora Cocoon is zo’n leuk project en zoooooo snel! Het is echt zo klaar. Het is zo leuk ook om te dragen en helemaal gezellig, het is alsof je een deken draagt met armen. Ik voorspel veel uurtje “cocooning” met deze vest in de toekomst!

De roos gestreepte versie is katoen tricot, die met de stippen is french terry. Maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl. Ik maakte 3xl. Er is ook een versie voor meisjes, dus je kan alle dames in huis inpakken in Cora’s, zelfs de poppen kregen een versie! Ik draag bij beide een paar Pippa Pants . De ideale “cocooning” combo!

Nu is het hier al warm geweest in de Lage Landen, dus ik heb ze nog niet zo vaak kunnen dragen, maar gisterenavond was het toch frisjes en heb ik gezellig kunnen cocoonen in mijn Cora voor tv, terwijl ik billions zat te bingen :D.

Brielle Blouse

The first time I made The Brielle Blouse was in a fit check for Rebecca Page . At that time I made it in a stiff cheap cotton, since checking if it fit was the only thing and I so hated it, I rly did. This huge boxy shirt. I rly thought it was awful. Then it went into testing and since I can’t say no to a test, I went for it and joined in. I decide on a flowy vintage fabric out of my stash and started, thinking I would not like it at all. And then this happened! I freaking love it! So much better in the right fabric, so elegant with the high neck and the poofy sleeves are so cute! Another example of why fabric choice is so so important!

It comes in sizes xxs to 5xl. I made a 3xl. I made no alterations whatsoever. The instructions are very clear so it’s easy to follow. My bff wants to make it while she isn’t sewing long and I’m confident she’ll finish it! As always it’s also available for girls and dolls. They are very cute too! the sleeves are an option, so you can go sleeveless if you want.

I love the keyhole in the back, breaks up the plain back with a fun detail. I used snaps to close at the neck. Buttons and thread loops on the sleeves. I love the silhouette it gives with a pencil skirt underneath, but I bet it’s also cute on top of jeans! I love how it’s loose on the waist, so I didn’t need to grade. I hope to see many Brielle’s popping up in my news feed soon! 😀

Brielle Blouse Rebecca Page
De eerste keer dat ik de Brielle Blouse maakte was tijdens een fit check voor Rebecca Page . Op die moment maakte ik het in een goedkope, stijve katoen, aangezien zien of het past het enige doel was op die moment en mijn god wat haatte ik het! Echt waar. Zo vierkant en gigantisch! Ik vond het echt zo vreselijk. Dan ging het in testing en ik kan niet nee zeggen tegen een test, dus ik deed maar mee lol. Ik koos deze keer een vloeiende vintage stof uit mijn voorraad en begon eraan, denkende dit wordt helemaal niks. En dan gebeurde dit! Dit is gewoon geweldig! Zo zo zoveel beter in de juiste stof, zo elegant met die hoge nek en de pofmouwen zijn zo leuk. Weer een voorbeeld van hoe je stofkeuze alles bepaald!

Het komt in maten xxs tot 5xl. Ik maakte een 3xl. Ik deed geen enkele aanpassing. De instructies zijn heel duidelijk dus ze zijn makkelijk te volgen. Mijn bff wil er ook 1 maken en die naait nog mor pas en ik ben er zeker van dat het lukt. Als altijd is het ook beschikbaar voor meisjes en poppen. Die zijn ook heel schattig! De mouwen zijn optioneel, dus je kan zonder mouw als je wil.

I hou van de split achteraan, het breekt de achterkant met een leuk detail. Ik gebruikte in de nek kamsnaps om te sluiten en aan de mouwen lusjes en knopen. Ik vind het silhouet met een potloodrok heel mooi, maar volgens mij is het ook een topper op jeans. Het is ook tof dat het los is op de taille, dus ik moest niet graderen. Ik hoop dat ik veel Brielle’s zie verschijnen op het net! 😀

The Meghan Wrap

Today I’m on your screen talking about The Meghan Wrap Dress by Rebecca Page . This dress just released! It’s a true wrap dress, comes in sizes xxs to 5xl, girl’s sizes and doll’s sizes. I made a 3xl. There’s quite a few different options. I chose the knee length skirt and the short sleeves. there’s midi and maxi length too and different sleeve lengths. I made mine in a thin cl, which wasn’t ideal. I’d suggest fabric with a bit more structure.

So I have to admit I might not have followed fabric suggestion too well for this and this resulted in a bit of a botched neckline during testing. It got added to the instructions how to prevent this, however I’m unsure if I’m going to fix it! I figured out that if you flip it basically like a blazer and flip the collar down instead of up you get a different look, which I kinde like now! So I’m thinking I’m gonna stick with my mistake and embrace it!

I’ve never wore this silhouette before , but I like it! This skirt is close to a pencil skirt and I like how it’s different from the big skirts most wraps have. However the maxi is also a big skirt ;). So you can get 2 completely different looks!

Vandaag verschijn ik op je scherm om te praten over De Meghan Wrap Dress door Rebecca Page . Deze jurk is net uit! Het is een echte overslag jurk, in maten xxs tot 5xl, meisjesmaten en poppenwagen. Ik maakte een 3xl. Er zijn heel wat opties. Ik koos de knie lengte en de korte mouwen. Er is ook nog midi en maxi lengte en verschillende mouwlengtes. Ik maakte mijne in dunne tricot, wat niet ideaal was. Ik zou voorstellen om een stof met wat meer “body” te kiezen.

Ik moet dus toegeven dat ik de stof suggestie niet zo goed heb gelezen for deze en dat resulteerde in een beetje een geknoeide neklijn tijdens het testen. Het is sindsdien ook toegevoegd aan de instructies hoe je dit voorkomt, maar ik ben nu niet meer zo zeker of ik het wel wil fixen! Ik bedacht ineens als je dat nu omslaat zoals bij een vest en de kraag naar beneden legt in plaats van omhoog zet, krijg je een heel andere look, die ik eigenlijk wel leuk vind! Dus nu denk ik erover om gewoon het “fout” te laten en mijn fout te omarmen :).

Ik heb dit silhouet nog nooit gedragen, maar ik vind het leuk! de rok is dichtbij een potlood rok en heel anders dan de grote rokken die overslagjurken meestal hebben. Dit gezegd zijnde, de maxi is hier ook een grote vloeiende rok. Dus je kan 2 totaal verschillende looks maken!

Dreamy Drape + Add On

I’m rly rly close to have sewn all Rebecca Page patterns. Today I’m one step closer again ;). She released an add on for the Dreamy Drape and I had never sewn the Dreamy Drape, so I was happy to sew it up! The Dreamy Drape is a batwing top with 2 hem options and a few sleeve options and neckoptions. With the add on you can make either a skirt to go with it or turn it into a dress! The look of the dress and the look of the 2 separates is the same, so I decided to do separates, so I had 2 item ha! It comes in sizes XXS to 5XL, I made a 3XL.

I admit I had to get used to the top. I’ve never worn a top like this, at first I felt a bit swamped. The weather is nowhere near ok to wear this skirt, so I have been wearing the top with my Pippa Pants atm and I notice I’m wearing it all the time. It’s soooo comfy. Mine is also made of erm , god knows what the fabric is, it’s soft and fuzzy on the inside, like a thin sweaterknit? Anyways I’ve been loving wearing it around the house, it’s too cold to wear outside yet, cause it’s a bit unhandy with a coat haha. But I always dread having to take it off to go out. So it seems it won my affection afterall haha.

Getting pictures was to say the very least a challenge in the middle of the pooring rain. (look at the ground I’m standing on LOL). Good thing the camera didn’t focus on the raindrops haha. Now the add on is very easy. The skirt is a quick sew and the top is a quick sew, the dress is an even quicker sew ;). Very beginner friendly and the instructions are very good. There’s also a girl’s version and a doll version included. The girl’s version is very cute too! This is a great wardrobe builder and great for capusle wardrobes!

Dreamy Drape Add On Rebecca page

Ik kom erg dichtbij het punt dat ik alle patronen van Rebecca Page heb gemaakt. Vandaag ben ik weer een stapje dichter ;). Ze heeft net een add on uitgebracht voor De Dreamy Drape . Deze had ik nog nooit gemaakt, dus ik was meer dan bereid hem te maken! De dreamy drape is een vleermuis mouw top met 2 opties voor de zoom, een paar mouwlengtes en verschillende neklijnen. Met de add on kan je er of een rok bij maken of het in een jurk omtoveren. Ik koos voor de rok, want de look is toch hetzelfde en zo heb je 2 stuks ha! De maten lopen van XXS tot 5XL, ik maakte 3XL.

Ik moet toegeven, ik moest even wennen aan de top. Ik heb nog nooit iets zoals dit gedragen en ik voelde me eerst een beetje verdwijnen. Het weer is nog niet bijna goed genoeg om de rok te dragen, dus ik ben het momenteel op mijn Pippa Pants aan het dragen en ik merk dat ik het continue weer aan doe. Het is zooo comfortabel. Deze stof is ook licht gemoltoneerd aan de binnenkant. Het is nog een beetje te koud om buiten te dragen, een jas erover is ook niet erg handig, dus draag ik hem momenteel nog alleen binnen, maar ik zucht telkens wel als ik hem moet uitdoen om buiten te gaan. Dus uiteindelijk ben ik toch een fan geworden haha.

Foto’s nemen was op z’n minst uitgedrukt een uitdaging in de gietende regen. (Kijk maar is goed naar de grond haha). Gelukkig focuste de camera niet op de regendruppels. Nu de add on is heel makkelijk. De rok is een snel klaar projectje, de top ook en de jurk nog sneller;). Heel beginners vriendelijk en de instructies zijn geweldig. Er is ook een meisjes versie en een poppen versie inclusief. De meisjes versie is ook heel schattig! Dit is een ideaal patroontje om je garderobe snel en makkelijk uit te breiden. Ideaal ook voor “capsule” garderobes (hebben wij hier een woord voor in het nederlands??)

I’m from Belgium and it’s way way waaaay colder here atm then we are used too. So the new Riley Vest by Rebecca Page is getting a lot of usage atm! It’s such a great pattern, comes in sizes xxs to 5xl (and kids sizes newborn till 12y). I made mine with a softshell on the outside, a cotton on the inside and a batting in-between. It’s so warm! it’s awesomeness! I could never have made this without Rebecca’s great instructions! I never ever used batting, I never quilted and I think it turned out lovely!

I made a 3Xl. No alterations. I was so nervous about doing the welt pockets with the batting, but it turned out to be no issue at all! You could be more creative than me and add your own pattern of quilting instead of the lines and/or use a different color thread, you can leave the batting and get a thinner vest, the options are endless really.

I also love it doesn’t end above your behind 😉 Nobody wants that popping out under a vest awkwardly rt and you get a cold back. I chose the old pink so it matches almost everything in my closet. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourites in my wardrobe!

Ik hoef jullie niet te vertellen hoe belachelijk koud het is. De nieuwe Riley Vest door Rebecca Page is dan ook 1 van mijn meest gedragen items momenteel! Het is zo’n geweldig patroon, komt in maten xxs tot 5xl (kinderen pasgeboren tot 12jaar). Ik maakte mijne met aan de buitenkant softshell, binnenkant katoen en een dikke voering ertussen. Het is zooo warm! ‘T is geweldig! Ik had dit nooit kunnen maken zonder de uitgebreide instructies van Rebecca. Ik had nog nooit tussenvoering gebruikt en ik had nog nooit gequilt en naar mijn mening is het allemaal prima gelukt!

Ik maakte maat 3xl. Geen veranderingen. Ik was zo nerveus over de zakken met die dikke tussenvoering, maar dat bleek een eitje te zijn! Je kan creatiever zijn als ik en je eigen patroontje om te quilten bedenken ipv de strepen, of een ander kleur draad gebruiken. Of de tussenvoering weglaten en dan krijg je weer een dunnere vest. De opties zijn eindeloos.

Ik vind het ook leuk dat het niet zo net boven je achterste stopt. Niemand wil dat zijn achterkant raar onderuit een vest plopt en je krijgt zo snel een koude rug! Ik koos deze kleur omdat het bij zowat alles in mij kast past. Het is snel 1 van mijn favorieten in mijn dressing aan het worden!

Cardie’s, can one rly ever have enough? Here in Belgium fall seems the season that lingers all year. So I get a lot of use out of cardie’s. I tested The Cicrle Cardie by Rebecca Page . It’s so cute and flowy and such a quick sew. I don’t think I spend more than an hour from cutting to finish. Sizes run from xxs to 5xl, I made a 3xl.

There’s 2 different lengths, I chose the longest length. You can then add a band of a ruffled band or just leave it as is and hem, which I did. I hemmed with a small overlockstitch, which I just discovered and its way cute :D. You can choose sleevelengts or go without sleeves. Lots of options! As usual there’s a pattern for ladies and girls.

I made mine from a fabric I just scored in a sale, it’s a tad stiffer so not as drapy as in a flowier fabric, but I rly like the look. And it’s very warm and comfy. Closed up with a belt is fun too.

Cardie’s, kan je er ooit echt genoeg hebben? Hier lijkt het wel altijd herfst, dus je kan het iig veel dragen. Ik testte De Cicrle Cardie van Rebecca Page . Het is zo schattig en het valt zo leuk en het is zo snel (zo dat zijn veel zo’s haha). Ik denk niet dat ik langer dan een uur ben bezig geweest van knippen tot eindresultaat. Maten lopen van xxs tot 5xl. Ik maakte een 3XL.

Er zijn 2 verschillende lengtes, ik koos de langste. Je kan dan nog een band toevoegen of een gefronste band of het zo laten en zomen, dat is wat ik heb gedaan. Ik heb gezoomd met een smalle overlocksteek, welke ik net heb ontdekt en ik vind het zo cute :D. Je kan kiezen uit verschillende mouw lengtes of geen mouwen. Veel opties dus! Zoals gewoonlijk is er een patroon voor dames en meisjes.

Ik maakte mijne uit een stof die ik scoorde in de sale van Les Lisettes , het is een beetje stijfer, dus het is niet zo vloeiend als zou kunnen zijn in een heel soepele stof, maar ik vind de look heel tof. Het is zo warm en comfy! Dicht met een riempje is ook supertof.

The last 2 weeks I’ve been busy with hosting a sew a long for Taylor Trench Coat. We finished this week, so this is my entry for the 2nd week of the 52 week sewing challenge. The assignment was to use the last fabric you bought, technically it isn’t, but it’s very close ;). Hosting a sew a long was very fun, yet this was a very challenging pattern to use for an event like this. I’m very proud to all who managed to finish it and who have a gorgeous coat to show for it! For the ladies still working on it…you can do it! 🙂

I made this one in a twill with a bit of polyester, it’s a lot thinner then my first pink one, so it’ll be my spring coat. I chose camo, cause imo it counts as a solid, so you can wear a print with it :p and if my lab decides in the middle of our hike that he needs to give me a kiss, his paw prints won’t show too much. Honestly he does this! He’ll just jump up and licks my face, quite impressive for a 100 pound dog lol. I think I have enough coats now to last me a good while haha.

Taylor Trench Coat Rebecca Page
De laatste 2 weken ben ik druk bezig geweest met een sew a long te hosten voor de Taylor Trench Coat. We waren deze week klaar, dus mijn week 2 project voor de 52 week sewing challenge is mijn nieuwe trench. De opdracht was om de laatste stof te gebruiken die je hebt gekocht. Technisch gezien is dat niet deze, maar ‘t scheelt niet veel. Een sew a long hosten was erg leuk, hoewel dit wel echt niet het ideale patroon was. Ik ben heel trots op iedereen die hun prachtige jas hebben afgekregen. Voor de dames die nog bezig zijn…je kan het! 🙂

Ik maakte deze in keperkatoen met een beetje polyester, het is veel dunner dan mijn roze jas, dus dit wordt mijn lente jas. Ik koos camo, want dat telt naar mijn mening als een effen kleur en je kan er dus prima een print bij dragen :p en als mijn lab in het midden van het bos beslist dat ik een kus nodig heb, zie je hopelijk zijn pootafdrukken niet. Echt hij doet dit dus he! Hij springt een gat in de lucht en geeft een lik op mijn gezicht, best indrukwekkend voor een hond van 45 kg lol. Iig , ik denk dat ik nu even genoeg jassen hebt haha.
