Apollo hoodie and Lakeside joggers

Not 1 but 2 new patterns for men by Sinclair Patterns just came out ! The Lakeside joggers are made out of knit , semi fit at the hips and slim fit at the calves. I think they look great and according to my better half they are comfy too! I used french terry for them and ribbing for the cuffs and waistband. Construction is easy and as usual there’s different heights included in the pattern! I chose not do to back pockets, but they are included if you do want them.  I made a us36 tall, size run from us34 to us52 .

The Apollo hoodie is so awesome. Lots of color blocking options, a huge front pocket ( which was a big selling point for my husband haha) and of course a nice hood. The fit is semi fitted and is great. Construction isn’t hard, the explanation of the pocket is great, you can do this :). I chose french terry again for this one. I made a us36 reg. . Sizing runs from us34 to us52 and again also here different heights included! Due to the color blocking you can get very creative with this one or use up left overs to use as accents! I really like how you can make a truly unique hoodie.

Sinclair Patterns bracht niet 1, maar 2 patronen uit voor mannen! The Lakeside joggers zijn gemaakt uit een stretchstof, half aansluitend op de heupen en aansluitend aan de kuiten. Ik vind ze er echt heel leuk uit zien en volgens mijn wederhelft zijn ze ook heel comfortabel! I gebruikte french terry en boordstof voor de boordjes en tailleband. Ze zijn helemaal niet moeilijk om te maken en zoals gewoonlijk bij sinclair zijn er ook weer verschillende lengtematen! Ik koos ervoor om geen achterzakken te gebruiken, ze zitten wel bij het patroon als je ze wel wil. Ik maakte een us36, het patroon loopt van us36 tot us52.

The Apollo hoodie is helemaal geweldig. Superveel mogelijkheden om te color blocken, een reusachtig grote zak vooraan (een groot pluspunt volgens mijn man) en uiteraard een leuke kap. De pasvorm is half aansluitend en het past perfect. Hij is niet super moeilijk om te maken en hoe je de zak moet doen is heel goed uitgelegd, dus het lukt je vast! 🙂 Ik koos ook hier voor french terry. Ik maakte een us36 reg. Maten lopen van us34 tot us52, ook hier zijn er weer lengtematen inclusief ! Door alle color blocking mogelijkheden kan je lekker crea bea zijn of zelfs dat mooie restje erin verwerken als accent! Super tof dat je echt een unieke hoodie kan maken.

Nova Raglan Sweatshirt

I love a good raglan pattern so I was happy to test the Nova Raglan for Sinclair Patterns . It’s a rather relaxed sweater, which I like for layering in winter. I made a us18 bust, us20 waist and hips. Sizing runs from us0 to us22. The fit is awesome! I love everything about it, it’s a quick sew, it’s cute and comfy.

I used french terry,  it’s so soft and cuddly! I love this fabric so so much, it’s perfect. There’s a few options to choose from. A regular neckband, a collar (which I chose) and a hood. You can also add a kangaroo pocket or a small pocket. You can use a band to hem (my pick for this one) or a finish with a drawstring. Basically everything you need from a staple raglan pattern.

This will for sure be my go to pattern if I want to make a quick easy raglan. This is beginner friendly for sure! Instructions are very easy to follow too.

Ik hou wel van een goed raglan patroontje, dus ik testte De Nova Raglan  graag voor Sinclair Patterns . Het is een eerder lossere pasvorm, dus perfect voor laagjes eronder aan te doen in de winter. Ik maakte maat 56 buste, 58 taille en heupen. De maten lopen van 38 tot 60. De pasvorm is helemaal top! Ik hou er echt van, makkelijk te naaien, snel, leuk en comfy!

Ik gebruikte french terry, zo zacht en knuffelig! Ik vind het zo’n leuke stof, helemaal perfect! Er zijn een paar opties om uit te kiezen. Een gewone nek band, een kraag (zoals de mijne) en een kap. Je kan ook kiezen voor een borstzakje of een kangoeroe zak. De zoom kan je doen met een band (mijn keuze voor deze) of met een trekkoord. Kortom alles dat je nodig hebt voor een goed basispatroon zit erbij.

Dit wordt absoluut zeker mijn go to patroontje voor een basic raglan sweater. Dit patroontje is ook zeker beginner vriendelijk! De instructies zijn ook makkelijk te volgen.

Zoë top and drawstring dress

I tested for Sinclair Patterns again. This time we tested Zoe . This pattern already existed but got a revamp. I chose to make the dress drawstring version. There’s also a top version and you can also leave off the drawstring if you don’t like that. So there’s a lot of options :). The patterns also comes in 3 heights, I made regular. I made a size us18 bust, us20 waist. Sizing runs from us0 to us22. Oh and there’s pockets if you want em! 😀

I figured out this cotton jersey borderprints fit the pattern quite perfect. So I used them all up haha. I did create a monstrous 6 legged llama tho on the side :o. He’s a force to be reckoned with! The llama version is an earlier testversion, the drawstring got moved up a tiny bit. But I still rly liked that version, so i wanted to show you :).

Fit is great. I like this dress way way more the I expected! The pockets are huge so you can put in all your things and more haha. The instructions are very clear and it’s not a very hard pattern. I’d say beginner friendly :).

Ik testte nog is voor Sinclair Patterns . Deze keer was het de beurt aan Zoe . Dit patroon bestond al, maar kreeg een revamp. Ik koos voor de jurk met trekkoord. Er is ook een topversie en je kan het koordje ook weglaten als je wil. Er zijn dus best veel opties 🙂 . Het patroon is er in 3 lengte maten, ik maakte regular. Ik maakte maat us18 buste, us20 taille en heupen. De maten lopen van US0 tot us22. Oh en er zijn zakken als je die wil! 🙂

Ik ontdekte dat dit patroon perfect was voor deze randdessins in katoen tricot, dus ik heb de 2 die ik had opgebruikt haha. Ik creëerde wel een heel monsterlijke 6 benige lama aan de zijkant van mijn lama jurk. Ik zal maar opletten wat ik doe met die erbij :o. De lama versie is een eerdere testversie, het koordje zit nu een stukje hoger. Maar ik vind hem toch superleuk en wilde deze ook laten zien :).

De pasvorm is top. Ik vind deze jurk veel leuker dan ik op voorhand had verwacht! De zakken zijn super groot dus je krijgt er al je spullen in en nog meer haha. De instructies zijn duidelijk en het is niet een heel moeilijk patroon. Ik zou zeggen beginner vriendelijk :).

Ivy Tee

It seems it’s turning into the summer of the rayon knits for me. This is The Ivy Tee by Sinclair Patterns . I used rayon knit cause it’s a rather relaxed fit and rayon just flows better then cotton. I made a size us18 bust, us20 waist and hips. Sizing runs from us0 to us22. Fit is spot on :).

The top features a fun color block detail. I chose to do the sleeves the same as the bodice, you can also do them the same as the yokes. So many possibilities! The curved hem is longer in the back then in the front. I really like that hem. I chose the short sleeves, you can also do 3/4th and long sleeves. I’m planning a winter version with long sleeves in a nice sweater knit!

The pleat in the back is a nice feature and gives your bottom some room 😉 . The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I’d say it’s totally beginner friendly! I also like how back details are now so much more useful with my shorter hair haha. So I’m all for back details now :D.

Het begint erop te lijken dat dit de zomer van de viscose tricot wordt voor mij. Dit is The Ivy Tee van Sinclair Patterns . Ik gebruikte viscose tricot omdat de pasvorm eerder los is en viscose valt gewoon mooier dan katoen. Ik maakte een us18buste, us20 taille en heupen. De maten lopen van us0 tot us22. De pasvorm is helemaal top.

De top heeft een leuk color blocking detail. Ik koos ervoor om de mouwen in dezelfde kleur als het lijfje te doen, maar je zou het ook in dezelfde kleur van de bovenkant kunnen doen. Superveel opties! De gebogen zoom is langer achteraan dan vooraan. Ik vind die zoom tof. Ik koos de korte mouwen, maar je kan ook 3/4de en lange mouwen kiezen. Ik plan nog een winterversie met lange mouwen en een sweater stofje.

De plooi achteraan is ook een leuk detail en geeft je achterwerk genoeg ruimte ;).  De instructies zijn duidelijk en makkelijk te volgen. Ik zou zeggen dat dit lukt voor een beginner. Het is nu ook zo leuk dat details achteraan effectief nuttig zijn met mijn kortere haar haha. Ik ben nu dus helemaal voor leuke achterkanten 😉 :D.

Oliver

I made a thing again for my hubbie. The Oliver  by Sinclair Patterns . It’s a classic polo shirt and since he own 0 polo’s, I figured let’s do this! It turned out great and he really likes it. I used a lightweight french terry. After 5 minutes I was wondering why I picked stripes, but I guess I’ll have to keep doing them to get better at them. I didn’t do too bad this time tho! 🙂

Not perfect matching, but I’m going with close enough. Sizing runs froms xs to xxl. My hubbie fits in an S. Fit is great, the instructions are clear. I’d not call it a beginner pattern tho. The plaquet is well, a plaquet, they are never really easy. But if you’ve been sewing a bit, you’ll be fine.

There’s a few options, different sleeve lengths and even a hood. The hood gives it a more casual, playful look which I like too, but the hubbie requested a collar so he got a collar :). As always with Sinclair,  there’s length sizes too. Hubbie measures into a regular. I think that’s brilliant tho, no shortening or lengthening ftw!

Ik maakte nog is een ding voor mijn man.  De Oliver  van Sinclair Patterns . Het is een klassiek polo shirt en dat hangt nog niet in z’n kast, dus ik dacht waarom niet! Het is super leuk geworden en hij is er blij mee. Ik gebruikte een dunne french terry. Na 5 minuten knippen, dacht ik alweer, waarom nu strepen, maar ik zal het toch moeten blijven doen om het te leren he. Het was niet heel dramatisch deze keer. haha.

Zoals je kan zien is het niet perfect, maar ach goed genoeg. Maten lopen van xs tot xxl. Mijn man past in een S. De pasvorm is prima, de instructies zijn duidelijk, maar ik zou het geen beginners patroon noemen. Zo’n knopenpad is tja een knopenpad, nooit echt makkelijk. Maar als je al wat uurtjes achter de machine hebt doorgebracht, lukt het je vast.

Er zijn een paar opties zoals mouwlengtes en er is ook een kap. Die vind ik zelf ook heel leuk, dat maakt het wat speelser en jonger, maar ik kreeg instructies dat mijn man een kraag wilde, dus dan krijgt hij een kraag he :D. Zoals altijd bij Sinclair patronen zijn ook hier lengtematen. Mijn man valt in regular. Super handig vind ik dat, dan hoef je nooit te verkorten of verlengen.

Lauren Top and Dress

Not too long ago I bought some jeans, I know I bought clothes :o. I did so cause I had no idea if I can even wear jeans with my pressure urticaria. Seems I can to some degree! So I’ll be making some soon too! Anyways this means I need tops, I don’t have a whole lot of tops and this one really caught my eye with the pretty pleat details and the asymmetrical neckline, so nr. 2 of the cross over type thingies is a fact! It’s the Lauren Top (and dress) by Sinclair Patterns.

First off apologies, I took my side pictures on the wrong side, it looks different on the other side that has the pleats.  I made the top in a very lightweight cotton jersey. I made a US18 bust, US20 waist and hips. Sizing runs from US0 to US22. The fit is great. The instructions are clear, however I’d not classify it as a beginners pattern.

You can choose either top length or dress length. I went with top length obviously haha. There’s different sleevelengths and a sleeveless version. (I bet that’ll be great for summer! )I made 3/4th sleeves, It’s my thing atm, dunno why haha. I really like the fit and fun pleats on it. It would be even better in a drapier fabric! I’m a fan of this pattern!

Een tijdje terug kocht ik een paar jeansbroeken, ik weet het! Ik kocht gewoon kleren :o. Het was een experiment om te zien of ik met mijn druk urticaria uberhaupt een jeans aan kan. Nu heb ik dus uitgevist dat dit lukt tot op een bepaalde hoogte. Dus nu moet ik er toch echt zelf gaan maken. In ieder geval, dit betekent dat ik best wat tops kan gebruiken, ik had er echt niet zo zot veel. Deze trok direct mijn aandacht door de mooie plooien en de neklijn die niet symmetrisch is. Bij deze was dus nr. 2 van kruisende voorpand dingen een feit. Het is de Lauren Top (en jurk) van Sinclair Patterns.

Eerst hier even een verontschuldiging, ik heb heel dom foto’s genomen van de zijkant waar de plooien niet komen, de andere kant ziet er dus best anders uit en had vast nuttiger geweest. Ik maakte de top in een dunne katoen tricot in maat US18 buste, US20 taille en heupen. Maten lopen van US0 tot US22. De pasvorm is top (pun intended 😉 ). De instructies zijn duidelijk, maar ik zou het alsnog toch niet echt een beginners patroon noemen. 
Je kan kiezen uit toplengte of jurklengte. Ik koos (overduidelijk haha) voor top lengte. Er zijn verschillende mouwlengtes en een mouwloze versie is er ook , die lijkt me zo leuk voor de zomer. Ik koos nu de 3/4de mouw, geen idee waarom, dat is tegenwoordig mijn ding haha. Ik ben echt blij met de pasvorm en de leuke plooien. Die komen vast nog mooier uit in een stof die meer doorhangt.

Dakota Tunic and Dress

I had this gorgeous for a while now, waiting for the perfect pattern. It’s cotton jersey. I decided to use it for the Dakota Dress by Sinclair Patterns.  I always wanted an empire waist dress with a button up in front. So choosing my options for this one was easy. Since it’s cold I chose the long sleeves and I obviously chose pockets. There’s also tunic length , no buttons and other sleeve lengths to choose from.

Sizing runs from us0 to us22, I made a size 18 bust, 20 waist. I could have not blended tho with it being empire and having a rather big skirt. I really like this dress, I’ll be wearing it loads. Fit is great and it’s not difficult at all. I love the hem too, it has a nice fun shape.

I think it would be so nice in buffalo plaid in tunic length, I know I know, me and plaid. haha. Still I want one to wear on jeans 😉 The day after these pics I got a haircut, so these are the last ones with very long hair! 🙂

Ik had deze mooie stof al een tijdje, het lag te wachten op het perfecte patroon. Het is katoen tricot. Ik besliste om het te gebruiken voor de Dakota Dress van Sinclair Patterns.  Ik heb al altijd een empire jurk met een knopenpad vooraan gewillen. Mijn opties kiezen was dus simpel deze keer. Aangezien het vies weer is maakte ik lange mouwen, ik koos uiteraard ook voor de zakken. Er is ook nog tuniek lengte, geen knopen en andere mouwlengtes.

Volgens mij zou een versie in ruitjes in tunieklengte ook kei tof zijn. Jaja ik weet het, ik en ruiten. haha. Toch wil ik er 1 om op jeans te dragen :). De dag nadat deze foto’s zijn genomen is er een heel eind van mijn haar geknipt, dus deze zijn de laatste met heel lang haar! 😉

JJ Joggers

I bet you think I have made all the things by now. Well I never made myself joggers, nor did I own any. So I gave it a go with  The JJ Joggers by Sinclair Patterns. I had some left from my pretty blue butterfly fabric, so I chose that. It’s very soft French terry. For the cuffs and waistband I used circular knit. I love how this pattern comes in 3 height sizes so you don’t have to mess around with length too much.

Sizing runs from US0 to US22. I made a US18. I took 2 inch off the length, but in retrospect I probably should only have done 1 inch. Oh well. They also can be made below the knee instead of full length.  It has pockets and they are huge! I can fit all my crap in there easy!

Fits is great imo , the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I believe a beginner can manage these. I will def. be making more, cause the are so comfy! I don’t know why I never made joggers before, sometimes I’m silly. I need MORE! 😀

Jullie denken vast dat ik ondertussen zowat alles bezit van kledij. In realiteit heb ik nog nooit joggers voor mezelf gemaakt, ik bezit er zelfs geen. Dus ik probeerde het is met de JJ Joggers van Sinclair Patterns. Ik had nog wat over van mijn mooie blauwe vlinder stof, dus ik koos dat. Het is een superzachte french terry. Voor de enkelboord en tailleband gebruikte ik boordstof. Super tof dat dit patroon in lengtematen komt zodat je niet te veel aan de lengte moet aanpassen.

Maten lopen van EU38 tot EU60. Ik maakte een EU56. Ik haalde 5 cm van de lengte , maar bij nader inzien had ik beter maar 2.5 cm eraf gehaald. Beetje dom :D. Je hebt ook een snijlijn om ze net onder de knie te laten komen ipv de volle lengte. De zakken zijn geweldig. Heel groot, dus al mijn rommel kan er makkelijk in!

De pasvorm is super naar mijn mening, de instructies zijn heel duidelijk en makkelijk te volgen. Ik denk dat een beginner hier wel mee weg geraakt. Ik ga er zeker nog meer maken, want ze zijn zooo comfy! Ik weet niet waarom ik nog nooit eerder joggers maakte, soms ben ik een beetje raar. Ik wil er NOG! 😀

Skylar Knit Raglan Hoodie

I’m normally not a hoodie person, I was more than happy to make an exception for this one tho! The Skylar Hoodie by Sinclair Patterns is too cute to pass up! The princess seams give you shape and add a feminine look. They also have a pocket incorporated.  It comes with a few hood options (or even hoodless), normal cuffs and thumb hole cuffs. I did the thumb hole cuffs, So handy for when I’m walking the dog!

Sizing runs from us0 to us22. I made a us18 bust, us20 waist. Don’t worry, in the instructions are clear directions how to blend this one! Fit is great, I can wear it without a shirt or with a shirt underneath if it gets really cold. Construction isn’t overly difficult, a confident beginner would manage imo with the instructions being so clear.

The pink fabric with the fries is french terry, the white is moltoned sweater. These fabrics make for a very cozy soft hoodie 🙂 . I had been hoarding the pink for a year or so, no idea what to use it for, till this pattern popped up. It must have been sitting in my stash for this I think :). The only downfall is I get hungry every time I see myself in a mirror. lol

Ik ben normaal niet zo’n groot hoodie persoon, maar ik had er geen probleem mee om een uitzondering te maken voor deze. De Skylar Hoodie van Sinclair Patterns is te leuk om over te slaan! De prinsessenaden geven je vorm en voegen een vrouwelijke toets toe. Ze verbergen ook een zak. Je hebt nog een paar kap opties, zelfs kaploos. Er zijn ook gewone polsbanden en duimgat (???) polsbanden, die maakte ik. Die zijn zo ideaal wanneer ik de hond moet uitlaten!

Maten lopen van eu38 tot eu60. Ik maakte een eu56 buste, eu58 taille. Maak je geen zorgen, in de instructies staat heel duidelijk hoe je dit met deze trui doet! De pasvorm is super, ik kan er een shirt onderaan wannneer het nog kouder is en nu zonder. Het is niet zo gek moeilijk om te maken, met de instructies ernaast moet een beginner met wat ervaring dit wel kunnen :).

De roze stof met de frieten is french terry, het witte is gemoltoneerde sweater. Deze stoffen maken het een heel gezellige, zachte hoodie :). Ik had het roze al een hele tijd liggen, maar ik wist niet goed wat ermee te doen. Dan kwam dit patroon en het was direct duidelijk dat het dit moest worden. het enige nadeel is dat ik honger krijg telkens ik in een spiegel kijk. lol

Walker Raglan Hoodie

Another test for my husband! Loving all the men’s patterns coming out! There is a huge imbalance between the sizes of our wardrobes, so I sew all the things for the hubster ;). This is The Walker Raglan Hoodie by Sinclair Patterns. It’s a semi fitted hoodie, so not too slim fitting, yet not oversized. We both really love it.

I made this version in butter soft French Terry. I used my coverstitch to do some fun accentseams and ribknit for the cuffs and bottom band. This is a us36 in regular length. As usual there’s 3 lengths to choose from so no altering for height, jippie! Sizes run from us34 to us52.

He immediately asked me to make more, so I’m going an a hunt for fabric he likes. It’s actually very nice to sew for your husband, makes him happy and you get to buy more fabric! Everybody happy! 🙂

Nog is een test voor mijn man! Er komen de laatste tijd zoveel mannen patronen uit, helemaal top! Er is een grote ongelijkheid tussen onze warderobes, dus ik naai graag voor zijn kant van de kast:)! Dit is De Walker Raglan Hoodie door Sinclair Patterns. het is een semi aansluitende hoodie, dus niet te aansluitend, maar ook niet oversized. We houden er beide veel van.

Ik maakte deze versie in super zachte French terry. Mijn coverstitch mocht ook meespelen en die maakte mooie siernaadjes als accent. Ik gebruikte boordstof voor de mouwen af te werken en de band. Dit is maat eu46, in “regular” lengte. Zoals gewoonlijk zijn er 3 lengtes, dus je hoeft niks aan te passen voor lengte, jippie. Maten lopen van eu44 tot eu62.

Hij vroeg direct om er nog te maken, dus ik ga op zoek naar stof die hij leuk vindt. Het is zo leuk voor je man naaien, het maakt hem blij en je kan meer stof kopen! Iedereen blij! 🙂
