Last test for 2018! It was great testing year! I loved making it all and I loved sharing it with you guys! So the last one is from Halla Patterns ! The Mirra Raglan  is a winner again! It’s fitted through the bust and more relaxed in the waist and hips. I love how comfy it is and the fit is great. I made mine out of cotton jersey.

I made the most simple version, but there’s a lot more options, a cowl, a hood, scoop pockets , a nursing option, different lengths and sleevelengths. I picked the long sleeves and the banded bodice. I bought myself stretchable towelfabric and I’ll make another one in that. I came up with that idea after I saw a post in a dutch fbgroup making fun of a guy wearing that in white and pink on a tv show. The more is was shocked by the awful comments in that post, the more I wanted to make one. So I shall do just that!

On another note, I so hate I can never seem to photograph any solid without it looking all wrinkled. What’s up with that??? Oh I almost forgot, I made a size 18 bust, 20 waist and hips, sizing runs from 00 to 30.

De laatste test van 2018! Het was een leuk testjaar! Ik vond het allemaal leuk om te maken en leuk om met jullie te delen! Dus, de laatste is van Halla Patterns ! De Mirra Raglan  is weer een topper! Het is aansluitend aan de buste en wat losser in de taille en aan de heupen. Heel comfortabel en de pasvorm is top. Ik maakte deze uit katoen tricot.

Ik maakte de simpelste versie, maar er zijn keiveel opties, een kraag, een kap, zakken, een voedingsoptie, verschillende lengtes en mouwlengtes. Ik koos de lange mouwen en de zoom met de band. Ik kocht nog sponzen stof (elastische badstof) om een andere te maken. I kreeg dat idee nadat ik een topic zag in een fbgroup waarin de meest ongepaste , gemene comments stonden over die kandidaat van de slimste mens in z’n roze/witte sponzen shirt. Hoe erger de comments, hoe meer zin ik kreeg om er 1 te maken. Dus dat gaan we dan ook doen!

Even terzijde, waarom kan ik toch nooit foto’s nemen van een effen kleur zonder dat dat er vreselijk gerimpeld uit ziet?! Oh en ik vergat het bijna, maar ik maakte maat 18 buste, 20 taille en heupen. maten lopen van 00 tot 30.

Rebel Raglan Hoodie

The Rebel Raglan Hoodie by Wardrobe By Me got rereleased and ofcourse I had to make it! This is the 2nd pattern for a men’s sweater I made this week, I so love making them! They also make the best christmas gifts. Last year I made 8 of these for gifts! It was a huge hit.

The rebel got rereleased with a hoodie and a more inclusive size range. It now ranges from 2XS to 3XL. I made a Size M for my husband. I used Alpine Fleece for the body , hood and pocket and ribknit for the cuffs and waistband. It is topstitched with a novelty stitch on my sewing machine, it looks like a cross stitch. I’ve been using those stitches a lot lately. They are there, why not use them rt!

The hood construction is very different from what I’ve done so far and it turned out rly nice imo! The pattern isn’t very difficult. A beginner can  make a plain version without issues. The options are well explained too. This is going to be a staple item in my husbands wardrobe for sure.

De Rebel Raglan Hoodie van Wardrobe By Me is heruitgebracht en uiteraard heb ik die gemaakt! Dit is het 2de sweaterpatroon voor mannen dat ik deze week maakte, ik maak ze echt zo graag! Het zijn ook zo’n leuke kerstgeschenken, vorig jaar maakte ik er 8 als kadootjes. Het was een groot succes 😀 .

De rebel is heruitgebracht met een kap en een uitgebereider matenbereik. Het loopt nu van 2XS tot 3XL. Mijn man draagt een M. Ik gebruikte Alpenfleece voor het lijf, de zak en de kap en boordstof voor de boorden. Ik heb het doorgestikt met een siersteek op mijn naaimachine. Het lijkt op een kruissteek. Ik gebruik deze steken tegenwoordig vaak. Ze staan er toch op, dus kan je ze net zo goed gebruiken toch!

De kap is anders dan ik gewoon ben tot hiertoe en ze valt zo mooi, topper! Het patroon is echt niet zo moeilijk. Een beginner kan zeker de gewone versie maken. De opties zijn ook heel goed beschreven, dus met wat lef lukt dat vast ook. Dit wordt zeker en vast een basic in mijn man zijn kast.

Dakota Tunic and Dress

I had this gorgeous for a while now, waiting for the perfect pattern. It’s cotton jersey. I decided to use it for the Dakota Dress by Sinclair Patterns.  I always wanted an empire waist dress with a button up in front. So choosing my options for this one was easy. Since it’s cold I chose the long sleeves and I obviously chose pockets. There’s also tunic length , no buttons and other sleeve lengths to choose from.

Sizing runs from us0 to us22, I made a size 18 bust, 20 waist. I could have not blended tho with it being empire and having a rather big skirt. I really like this dress, I’ll be wearing it loads. Fit is great and it’s not difficult at all. I love the hem too, it has a nice fun shape.

I think it would be so nice in buffalo plaid in tunic length, I know I know, me and plaid. haha. Still I want one to wear on jeans 😉 The day after these pics I got a haircut, so these are the last ones with very long hair! 🙂

Ik had deze mooie stof al een tijdje, het lag te wachten op het perfecte patroon. Het is katoen tricot. Ik besliste om het te gebruiken voor de Dakota Dress van Sinclair Patterns.  Ik heb al altijd een empire jurk met een knopenpad vooraan gewillen. Mijn opties kiezen was dus simpel deze keer. Aangezien het vies weer is maakte ik lange mouwen, ik koos uiteraard ook voor de zakken. Er is ook nog tuniek lengte, geen knopen en andere mouwlengtes.

Volgens mij zou een versie in ruitjes in tunieklengte ook kei tof zijn. Jaja ik weet het, ik en ruiten. haha. Toch wil ik er 1 om op jeans te dragen :). De dag nadat deze foto’s zijn genomen is er een heel eind van mijn haar geknipt, dus deze zijn de laatste met heel lang haar! 😉

North Star for Men

I loooove sewing men’s sweaters, I dunno why exactly, but I so enjoy it. So I tested 2 this week. This one is The North Star by Love Notions . This one features a huge pocket on the front and a zipper. You can choose between a collar and a hood, I went for the collar cause I liked the look of that. It’s a relaxed fit so ideal for layering.

I made a size S blended to M hips. The pattern ranges from XS to XXL. I used french terry and rib knit for the bands. This pattern works well with a load of fabrics! Fit is great and it’s not overly difficult. Whenever I do stripes or plaid I always seem to choose fairly impossible to match prints. With this fabric the stripes aren’t all the same size, which made it difficult, but I don’t think I did too bad.

I really really like this pattern and I’ll be using this for years I’m sure. And hey now I’m out of fabric he likes for sweaters, so I’ll sadly have to buy more fabric…oh noes the horror haha. 😀

Ik naai supergraag mannen sweaters, ik heb geen idee waarom, maar het is zo leuk! Dus ik testte er 2 deze week. Deze is De North Star van Love Notions . Er is een grote zak vooraan en een rits. Je kan kiezen tussen een kraag of een kap. Ik koos voor de kraag, omdat ik dat ook wel is een leuke look vind. De pasvorm is los, dus ideaal voor laagjes in de winter.

Dit is een maat s buste, maat M heupen. Het patroon loopt van XS tot XXL. Ik gebruikte french terry en boordstof voor de boorden. Dit patroon valt leuk in heel veel soorten stoffen! De pasvorm is super en het is niet extreem moeilijk te maken. Nu wanneer ik strepen of ruiten gebruik, moet ik altijd een stof kiezen met een iets of wat ingewikkeld patroon, hier waren de strepen niet overal even breed, wat weer moeilijk was om het te laten uitkomen, maar ik deed het nog zo slecht niet.

Ik vind dit echt een heel leuk patroon en ga dit wss. nog jarenlang gebruiken. En hey nu is al mijn stof op die mijn man leuk vond voor sweaters, dus nu moet ik nieuwe kopen zeg, boehoe wat een drama…haha :D.
