Here I am again with a freebie! I love jumping on the chance to show you guys free patterns. This one is by Patterns for Pirates . The pattern are unisex PJ Bottoms! They are made out of wovens, loose fitted and a very very quick sew. They have a elastic waist, there’s different inseams to choose from, so no messing with adjusting for height. I made the plus 1X, 30′ inseam. Sizing runs from xxs to plus 3xl. You can do em in full length, knee-length or shorts-length.

There’s also a version for children, so you can have your whole family sorted for free! And can I suggest this would not make a bad Christmas gift either! Win win win!

Hier ben ik weer met een gratis patroon! Ik vind het altijd tof wanneer ik de kans krijg om jullie wat gratis te laten zien. Deze is van  Patterns for Pirates . Het patroon is een unisex pyjamabroek! Je maakt ze uit geweven stoffen, ze zijn lekker los en ze zitten in elkaar voor je het weet. Er zit elastiek in de taille, er zijn verschillende binnenbeen lengtes om van te kiezen, dus geen gedoe met gokken of ze te lang gaan zijn. I maakte de plus 1X, 30′ binnenbeen lengte (wat een woord he :p). Maten lopen van xxs tot plus 3xl. Je kan kiezen uit de lange versie, knie lengte of short lengte.

Reagan Raglan

YOU GUYS!! Bella Sunshine Designs (aff.) just rereleased their Reagan Raglan with a new neckline, you can choose for a scoop neckline and a v-neck. AND the ladies version now runs from size 0 to 30! Berry Add-On

Rebecca Page (aff.) had this very cute shorts pattern, the Berry. It has a very cute waistband and is a loser fit. With fall knocking at the door, Rebecca drafted an Add-on for the shorts. So now you can make em full length or kneelength and unlined! I really really needed pants, so I gave em a whirl! I made a 3XL, which in all fairness was a boo boo, There is a tiny bit of stretch in the fabric, so they are a tad to big, I should have sized down.

First off, the are wide legged, very wide legged. If you don’t like that, you def. want to size down! Really check your measurements and recheck and think about what you want as the end result, so you don’t end up disappointed.  I have to say, it took me a while but I’m starting to like the wide legged look. I do have trouble deciding what to wear above it. I think I need to investigate the 70’s more for ideas 😉

As usual sizes run from XXS to 5XL. And the girls version runs from newborn till 12y. Oh and don’t forget about the dolls, they can rock it in the Berry too :D.

Don’t forget, you need the original Berry pattern to make these, so if you don’t own that already and want to make these, be sure to buy both the original and the Add-on.  And then when constructing, don’t be like Diskordia…don’t forget the darts in the back….as a lot of ppl who I’ve tested with know…I can be so daft (hi Sequoia! :p )! Worst thing about it….I only discovered it today! rofl.

Rebecca Page (aff.) had dit leuke shortpatroon, the Berry. Het heeft een leuke tailleband en is een lossere pasvorm. Met de herfst voor de deur maakte Rebecca een Add-on voor het patroon. Nu kan je ze in een lange versie maken en knielengte en ongevoerd! Ik had echt, echt broeken nodig dus ik dacht waarom niet! Ik maakte 3XL, wat nogal dom was, er zit een klein beetje stretch in mijn stof, dus het is iets te groot, ik had daar rekening mee moeten houden en een maatje kleiner moeten maken.

Om te beginnen, het zijn wijde pijpen, erg wijde pijpen. Als je dat niet leuk vind, is een maatje kleiner een uitkomst! kijk goed je maten na, kijk nog is en bedenk goed wat je wil als eindresultaat voor je je maat kiest , zodat je niet teleurgesteld bent.  Ik moet zeggen, ik had even nodig, maar ondertussen vind ik de wijde pijpen best leuk. Ik heb wat moeite te bedenken wat ik bovenaan aan doe, ik moet de jaren 70 is goed bestuderen om wat te leren ;).

Zoals gewoonlijk zijn de maten XXS tot 5XL. Meisjesversie pasgeboren tot 12y. . Oh en vergeet de poppen niet, die kunnen ook een Berry rocken :D.

Vergeet niet dat je het originele Berry patroon nodig hebt om deze te maken, dus als je dat nog niet hebt, kan je best wel beide kopen. En dan als je ze gaat maken, wees niet als Diskordia……vergeet de coupenaden achteraan niet….zoals velen die met mij testen weten…ik ben soms een beetje “daft”! Het ergste van al…ik heb het pas vandaag gezien! Rofl.

The Marjorie Blog Tour

I’m very excited to be part of the blog tour for The Marjorie! Hazel & Gather is a brand new company, this is the first pattern they release! It’ll be available only at The DIBY Club.

I didn’t do any hacks cause I felt the most important thing is covered…POCKETS 😀 and I just like this pattern as is! The black with the floral print is 1 of my only DBP fabrics I own, since it seems to be unfindable in Belgium. I was lucky a very sweet lady brought some over to me from the USA. :). I made a size 9, graded to 10, I think I would have been fine in a 9 straight up, but I liked it so much I stuck to this size! This pattern’s size range is huge, from size 00 – 10 and plus sizes from 0+ to 9+. There are 2 lengths to the dress knee-length and midi, both with a high/low hem. I made the kneelength.

There are 4 sleeve lengths, I made the longest ones, since fall is here in Belgium. There are many neck line options too, I did the scoop neck. You’re gonna wanna use a nice drapey knit for this one. I have no clue what the knit is I used for the second one, shame cause I love it! It flows so pretty! The instructions are great with a lot of information on adjustments people commonly have to make. As a first pattern for this designer I find it a complete hit. It’s pretty on any body shape, comfy and playful. What’s not to love seriously? I’m very excited to see what Hazel & Gather has in store for us in the future!

Ik ben heel enthousiast dat ik deel mag uit maken van de blog tour voor The Marjorie! Hazel & Gather is een nieuw bedrijf, dit is hun eerste patroon! Alleen verkrijgbaar bij The DIBY Club.

Excuseer mijn rare uitdrukking, het begon net te gieten toen we foto’s wilden nemen….oh dierbaar België… 😀 .

Ik heb geen hack gedaan, omdat ik vind dat het belangrijkste al in het patroon zit….ZAKKEN 😀 en ik vind het gewoon super leuk hoe het is! De zwarte stof met bloemen is “double brushed polyester”, 1 van de enigen die ik bezit, want het lijkt quasi onvindbaar in België. Ik heb het geluk gehad dat een lieve dame het voor me meebracht uit de USA :). Ik maakte maat 9, taille en heupen maat 10, Ik denkd at het prima was geweest gewoon in maat 9, maar ik vond het zo leuk dat ik gewoon bij deze maat ben gebleven! Dit patroon heeft een enorm groot maatbereik, van maat 00 – 10 en dan nog is grote maten van 0+ tot 9+. Er zijn 2 lengtes, knie lengte en midi, beide met een high/low zoom. Ik maakte de knie lengte.

Er zijn 4 mouwlengtes, ik maakte de langste. Je hebt ook keuze uit meerdere nek lijnen, ik maakte de “scoop” nek. Je kan hier best een heel soepel vallende tricot voor gebruiken.  Ik weet zelf niet wat de 2de stof is die ik heb gebruikt, jammer want ze valt zo mooi! De instructies zijn duidelijk met veel info over aanpassingen die mensen vaak moeten maken aan patronen. Als eerste patroon is dit direct een schot in de roos voor deze ontwerpster. het is mooi op alle lichaamstypes, comfy en speels. Wat wil je nog meer? Ik ben heel benieuwd wat Hazel & Gather nog in petto heeft voor ons in de toekomst!

The Boheme Sky

So fall is knocking at the door here in Belgium and since my fall wardrobe is non-existent I need to get sewing. I started of with The Boheme Sky by Striped Swallow Designs . I choose this cause I like the handkerchief hem a lot. I made an XXL, no alterations and the fit is lovely. Sizing runs from XS to XXXL. The floral one is SBP, which gives such a nice drape. The dress version is a mysteryknit you should not buy, so so horrid to sew with and even wearing a pursestrap around your shoulder damages the fabric, which sucks cause I really really like it! I’ll have to handle it with a lot of care!

The pattern is beginner friendly, nothing too difficult and the bodice is lined, which I always prefer.  The tunic (and midi) length has a bit of a different hem to the dress version. I love how it’s playful on the tunic, yet rather discrete on the dress length. You can choose from different sleeve lengths, so it can also be a summer item next summer. I had a lot of fun making this and I’ll have a lot of fun wearing it over the next few months 😀

Herfst staat aan de deur te kloppen en mijn herfstgarderobe is onbestaande, dus tijd om te naaien! Ik begon met de Boheme Sky door Striped Swallow Designs . Ik koos dit omdat ikd e zoom erg leuk vind. I maakte een XXL, geen aanpassingen en de pasvorm is prima. Maten lopen van XS to XXXL. De gebloemde versie is enkelg eborsteld polyester en dat valt zo mooi. De jurk is een “mystery”tricot, die je absoluut niet moet kopen, zo’n drama om mee te naaien en zelfs de schouderband van je handtas beschadigd de stof al, erg erg jammer, want ik vind em wel zo leuk! Ik zal er heel voorzichtig mee moeten zijn!

Het is een prima beginnerspatroontje, niks te moeilijk en het lijfje is gevoerd, wat ik altijd een plus vind.  De tuniek versie (en midi ook) heeft een iets andere zoom dan de jurk lengte. De tuniek versie is eerder speels, terwijl de jurk lengte net iets discreter is. Je hebt keuze tussen verschillende mouwlengtes, dus het kan volgende zomer ook nog een zomeritem zijn. Ik vond het leuk naaien en ik hoop dat het ook leuk dragen wordt de komende maanden 😀

Norah T-Shirt Dress

Laela Jeyne Patterns has been working on a surprise for you all! And I got to join in and test for you guys! The Norah T-Shirt dress is about to be released and is completely free for all their email subscribers!

It’s a lovely , easy pattern with which you can get very creative! Sizing runs from XXS to 3XL, I made an XL at the bust and graded out to a 2XL for waist and hips. The bodice (the black part on my version in the front) is lined, so no messing around with bindings. It’s insanely comfortable to wear and works well with many fabrics. You could also still wear it into fall with some leggings underneath. It could also work perfectly as a pretty nightie!

I used one of my panels for it and that was the perfect size! For the keen observer, yup I have used this panel before, I have an issue with panels. I rarely can buy one. I’ll go OMG THAT IS AMAZING, GIVE ME A BILLION! And then I’m stuck with a billion of the same panels :p. I blame my hoarding genes! But tbh…this panel is amazing, can you blame me?

Laela Jeyne Patterns heeft hard gewerkt aan een verrassing voor jullie allemaal! Ik mocht mee doen en testen voor jullie! De Norah T-Shirt jurk komt bijna uit en is volledig gratis voor mensen die ingeschreven zijn op de mailinglijst!

Het is een mooi, makkelijk patroon, waar je lekker creatief mee kan zijn! Maten lopen van XXS tot 3XL, ik maakte een XL op de buste en tekende naar een 2XL op taille en heupen. Het lijfje (het zwarte stuk vooraan op foto) is gevoerd, dus geen gedoe met hals afwerking. Het is heel comfortabel en kan in veel verschillende soorten stof gemaakt worden. Je kan het deze herfst nog prima dragen op een legging en het zou ook een heel mooi nachtkleedje kunnen worden!

Ik gebruikte een paneel en dat was de perfecte maat! Voor de wakkere burgers, yup ik gebruikte dit paneel al is eerder, ik heb een probleem met panelen. Ik kan er niet maar 1 kopen. Ik zie een leuk paneel en denk: “OMG DAT IS GEWELDIG! IK WIL ER EEN MILJOEN!”, en dan zit ik met een miljoen van die panelen :p. Ik steek de schuld op mijn verzamelwoede genen! Maar om eerlijk te zijn…dit paneel is geweldig! Kan je me ongelijk geven? 😀
